The beautiful Songho Tourist Site,
is located in Songho-ri, Yangsan-myeon, Yeongdong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do.
Entering the pine forest,
you will find a campground by the Geumgang River.
After passing a spacious parking lot for about 250 vehicles,
the management office is directly ahead.
Next to the management office, the wine experience center is currently closed,
and camping site permits must be purchased at the management office.
Walking in the pine forest by the Geumgang River is free.
Camping sites in areas A to E allow for setting up mats, tents, and chairs,
with a very reasonable fee of 15,000 won per night.
You can access the site from noon on the day of use until 11 AM the next day.
**Reservations for Songho Tourist Site Campground are available at the management office.
Areas A to E do not have electricity or campfires,
but Area F allows electricity usage,
though campfires are not permitted, with a fee of 20,000 won per night.
To find Area F, enter the Songho Tourist Site Campground and go to the right end where the outdoor stage is located.
Each camping site has a theme based on traditional Korean rhythms, making it fun.
Area A is 'Stable Jungmori',
Area B is 'Energetic Hwimori',
Area C is 'The Heart of Songho Tourist Site',
Area D is 'From Pine Scent to Wine Aroma',
Area E is 'Slow but Good Jin Yangjo',
and Area F is 'Wine Aroma in the Pine Forest'.
Since vehicles cannot enter the pine forest, there are hand carts lined up in front of the management office
for campers to transport their gear.
These carts are free to use.
After crossing the arch bridge, you will reach the pine forest campground.
Follow the direction indicated by the area signs to find your way.
If you prefer a view of the Geumgang River, I recommend Areas A or E,
and if you prefer the pine forest, Areas B, C, or D are great options.
Area C is convenient as it is relatively close to the restrooms, showers, and microwave.
There is a small library visible beyond the Songho Stone,
but it was locked on the weekday I visited.
In the pine forest, there is also a stone monument explaining the Yangsan Song.
The shower facility in Area C currently does not provide hot water.
Right next to the shower is a communal microwave for food preparation.
The water in front of Yeoui Pavilion is not suitable for drinking.
You should use the water located at the entrance near the ticket booth for drinking.
Yeoui Pavilion, located on a rock in the middle of the campground,
was likely near the flowing Geumgang River during the Joseon Dynasty.
From Yeoui Pavilion, you can see a stone Buddha and a five-story stone pagoda right in front of you.
In Area A by the Geumgang River,
it seems like people enjoyed water activities here during the summer!
Here are views from Area B in the pine forest and Area C near the shower facility.
In Area A, close to the Geumgang River, three families camped together and set up their tents.
It was heartwarming to see the children holding hands and walking through the forest.
Each area has a layout map, making it easy to find your reserved spot.
At the end of the pine forest, there is a bridge crossing the Geumgang River.
The Songho Geumgang Waterlight Bridge was completed in June 2021.
The bridge is 288.7 meters long and 2 meters wide,
allowing only pedestrians to cross.
Access may be restricted during strong winds.
The rock beneath the bridge is called Gwi Rock.
Campers reading a book by the Geumgang River in the pine forest exude tranquility.
The broadleaf trees beside the pine forest are beginning to turn autumn colors.
By mid-October, you can enjoy both the green pine forest and the autumn foliage.
The path from the Songho Tourist Site Campground to the road across the Geumgang River is the Yangsan Eight Scenic Geumgang Trail.
It takes about two hours to walk slowly,
making it easy to enjoy the scenery.
This trail allows campers to enjoy walking along with their forest and river relaxation.
The rock in front of Area E by the Geumgang River is called Yong Rock.
Songho Tourist Site offers a beautiful pine forest, a tranquil campground,
and not only the Yangsan Eight Scenic Trail but also nearby grape and wine exploration routes,
making it a place rich in attractions.
It's a wonderful spot to camp for a few days and relax, with plenty to see around the Songho Tourist Site Campground.
There are also four electric vehicle chargers in the parking lot for your convenience.
