The Namsan Cable Car is a must-visit attraction when traveling to Seoul. Taking the cable car to the top of Namsan Mountain offers a stunning view of the Seoul Tower and a panoramic cityscape. However, you might find yourself wondering: "Where exactly is the cable car station?", "What about parking?", or "Do I have to walk all the way up the hill?"

Especially when traveling with children or elderly companions, having a convenient way to reach the cable car station without climbing steep hills is essential. That's where the Namsan Oreumi comes in handy.

What is Namsan Oreumi?

Amazing View

The Namsan Cable Car station is located on a steep hill. In the past, you had to walk up the hill from Myeongdong Station or Hoehyeon Station. Now, you can use the Namsan Oreumi, a free inclined elevator, which makes the journey much easier.

Location: About a 5-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 3 (Accessible from Hoehyeon Station as well)

Operating Hours: 9:00 AM ~ 11:00 PM

Fare: Free

Features: A large inclined elevator that can accommodate strollers and wheelchairs.

In other words, Myeongdong Station → Namsan Oreumi → Cable Car Station, all connected!

How to Take the Namsan Cable Car (Using the Namsan Oreumi Route)

1. Get off at Myeongdong Station

Take Subway Line 4 to Myeongdong Station and exit at Exit 3.

Walk along the street in front of the exit for about 5 minutes, and you'll see the entrance to “Namsan Oreumi.”

2. Take the Namsan Oreumi

The Oreumi elevator takes you straight to the vicinity of the cable car station without having to climb the hill.

It's especially convenient for families with children, elderly travelers, and those with a lot of luggage.

Charming Photo

3. Arrive at the Cable Car Station → Purchase Tickets

The cable car ticket office is right next to the Oreumi exit.

You can purchase tickets on-site, but advance mobile reservations are recommended during peak season.

4. Take the Namsan Cable Car → Arrive at the Summit

It takes about 3 minutes to reach the top of Namsan Mountain after boarding the cable car.

The Seoul Tower, the Locks of Love, and an observation deck cafe await you.

Warm Memories

Namsan Cable Car Pro Tips ✨

1. Recommended for Evening Scenery

You can see the entire Seoul cityscape during the day and the sparkling night view in the evening.

If you go around sunset (twilight), you can enjoy both views.

2. Public Transportation is Better Than Parking

Parking is very difficult near the cable car station.

Taking the subway to Myeongdong Station and walking + using the Oreumi is the most convenient.

3. Namsan Oreumi Waiting Time

There may be a line for the Namsan Oreumi on weekends.

Still, it's much easier than climbing the hill yourself.

Wonderful Photo

4. One-Way Trip Tip

We recommend taking the cable car up and walking down (Namsan Trail).

If you have enough stamina, you can enjoy the natural scenery of Namsan Mountain.

Impressive Look
