All Aboard the Doggy Train: A New Model for Pet-Friendly Rail Travel
59-2 Samsu-dong, Taebaek-si, Gangwon-do, South Korea

From train to accommodation to activities, your dog can join you every step of the way...
Presenting a new model for train travel for pet-owning families! πΆπ
In an era where approximately 28.6%* of households in Korea have pets,
Korail Tourism Development is proud to introduce 'Daengchan Train'**, a train travel package that welcomes dogs for the entire journey! π
*Estimated figure based on the 2024 National Survey on Animal Welfare Awareness.
**Short for 'A Brilliant Moment with Your Dog, a Sparkling Train Journey'.
Operating as a 1-night, 2-day trip from September 5th to 6th,
Daengchan Train is a customized travel product
designed to allow you to enjoy everything from the train ride to your accommodation and tourist attractions
with your beloved dog.
The biggest feature of this 'Daengchan Train' is
that you can use a 'dog-only car'. πΎ
Passengers traveling with dogs will use a separate, dedicated car,
ensuring a comfortable travel environment for both dogs and their owners,
as well as general passengers.
It's not just about 'dogs being allowed';
a veterinarian and a dog trainer (handler) will accompany the train
to enhance the safety of the dogs and the convenience of their guardians.
In addition, we have planned a configuration that is clearly distinguished from existing dog travel products,
such as allowing special admission to tourist attractions where dog entry is restricted. π
'Daengchan Train' will be operated in two courses:
β² Donghae Course β² Taebaek Course
in collaboration with Donghae City and Taebaek City.
On the Donghae course, you will visit Mureung Byeolyucheonji,
Chuam Beach, and Mangsang Beach.
In particular, Mureung Byeolyucheonji is usually restricted to dogs,
but for this product only, guardians are allowed to enter with their dogs,
providing an exceptional opportunity!
The Taebaek course is organized around a rural experience theme,
and includes a visit to Montoirang Goat Ranch
and Tongri Tantan Park with your dog.
A handler will accompany you on all schedules, and a veterinarian will accompany you on the train,
so please travel with confidence as thorough safety guidelines are applied!
The product price starts from KRW 329,000 per person (based on 3 people and 1 dog per room).
Participation is limited to small dogs weighing 10 kg or less,
and vaccination documents and
animal registration certificates must be submitted in advance.
Unneutered dogs must wear a belly band,
and only one dog is allowed per team.
Please remember to bring a carrier or pet carrier in advance!

CEO Kwon Baek-shin of Korail Tourism Development said,
"We have designed this to minimize the restrictions that pet owners have experienced when traveling
and to allow them to fully enjoy traveling with their dogs."

"We ask for your interest in 'Daengchan Train',
a travel product where pets and people can coexist comfortably."
Train travel with your dog
is no longer difficult! πΆ

Anything must be simple to be sustainable.
It's not as easy as you think to plan and travel on your own.
Of course, it is true that access has become much better than before, as information from various media can be easily searched these days, and map applications can be used to find your way around.
However, it is also true that the fatigue of sifting through the many pieces of information is also piling up.
It's easy and fun to just pick a product that feels right on the Korail Tourism Development website and follow it like kindergarteners.
Isn't this the sustainable way to travel?
