Our summer vacation was planned for the week after peak season, and I naively thought we could still enjoy swimming in the sea. But, the beach closed down the day before we were set to leave! Feeling bummed, we impulsively planned a trip to Sokcho just three days before.

But I turn into a travel maniac when I'm on vacation jjjjjjj!

I didn't want to waste time so we packed in all the must-see and do things into a short, but sweet trip.

It was a happy trip, also known as a waiting-in-line hell.

I don't think I've ever been this sad as when a formerly hidden gem restaurant I knew got famous.

I brought my friends here years ago. I wanted to share this amazing place with my husband, but it changed quite a lot with a waiting area.

Especially because it's still peak season, we practically did an open run to get to the restaurant, and still waited for 1.5 hours.

Eating it took only 5 minutes.

But I succeeded in feeding my husband!

He says it's delicious. Right?!

The sun was scorching hot that day.

My sweet husband said he'll come to this place by car and told me to wait for him in the shade.

I especially love cute things, like Crayon Shin-chan and Hello Kitty…

When I heard they had both, I went for it without hesitation.

Without any choice, I brought home both Kitty and Shin-chan :)

Actually, this place was the most interesting thing to me while planning the Sokcho trip.

A truck that sells the romance of staring at the sea and reading a book on the beach.

If you are curious, leave a comment and I'll send you the exact address! It's a little far from the beach.

After checking into the hotel, we headed to swim in the sea

We were planning on going to Sokcho Beach, but there were so many people. So we went to the beach next to it: Oeongchi Beach. There were comparatively fewer people, because it isn't officially managed?

But there were still two lifeguards. We tried not to play too dangerously!

We played to our hearts' content, so tired that we went to buy dinner.

The sky in August is so pretty.

We were starving after sharing one squid and crispy rice sundae.

The market was about to close, so we barely managed to find it.

Among them, we tried *Uri Bunsik Tteokbokki* because it was recommended.

They said it's delicious with a boiled egg, but they were sold out.

So we only got tteokbokki as the next best thing!

Someone who likes seaweed chips != Me

You can taste different kinds and order the flavors you want.

So I bought sweet potato chips and seaweed chips, and also one for my parents!

My husband wanted to eat *Hotteok*, so we kept looking for it everywhere, and we were about to give up when we found *Giljjuengi Hotteok*!

There's cheese and regular *Hotteok*. They deep-fry it and it is full of oil!

We didn't have a proper meal, and just got a bunch of snacks...

And honey ice cream while waiting in line, saying that it's hot.

They cut honeycomb right in front of you and put it in.

Showing off what I bought at the market!

I've had *Dakgangjeong* (sweet and spicy Korean fried chicken) from Bukchon before, but this one is spicy and not too sweet.

So it's not too heavy. I usually stop eating if it's too heavy, but I kept eating this one.

The portion size is so big that we ate it for two days!

We could see Sokcho Eye from our hotel room.

Isn't that the Korean flag! I'm so proud~

Day 2

Alarm set for am 6:50, where are we going?

We came to Jeonwon Restaurant, which Sung Si-kyung praised so much.

They start handing out the queue numbers at 7 am, but we were a little late.

"Come back at 1:40 pm?" Yes.

What time did the others arrive?

Amazing...

Waiting happily, getting ready, and finally riding the Sokcho Eye!

It was a bit cloudy, but still romantic. More than anything, the inside of the Ferris wheel was air-conditioned and comfortable.

Looking at the ocean below and talking with my husband,

15 minutes went by so fast!

We still have plenty of time until our restaurant time,,

Let's do the course we planned first.

Huin Dajeong opened a while ago. I wanted to try the tomato shaved ice.

The tomato season was over, so they changed it to peach. But it's okay!

We entered the restaurant after a brutal wait.

They said it's for one person, but the portion size was huge.

We also ordered the peanut shaved ice, and it was also so good.

I know why it's so popular.

In the end, we left half of it behind.

How long have I been waiting for this meal?

It was the first and last proper meal lol.

I posted about it individually, but the taste was so new to me.

Everything was delicious.

We were so full that we went back to Sokcho Central Market for a walk.

I thought Gangwon-do was famous for corn, but peaches are also quite famous.

So pretty.

I heard that Chodang Coffee Mill's main store is in Gangneung?

They told me to try the crispy rice cream coffee, so I picked it up before heading home.

The crispy rice was so good and personally I like the corn coffee better.

My husband liked the crispy rice cream coffee better!

It's raining a lot now and we can't swim in the sea next week.

I'm glad we came to Sokcho for many reasons!

Please look forward to Gangneung next week :)

I'm going to have a great time.
