A Unique Café Experience in the Countryside

In a charming rural village, a very pretty and unique café has opened, and I finally got the chance to visit it.
During the weekend, I went trekking on the Seochul Dongryu Trail with my colleagues, and we stopped by the café along the trekking course.
Located right next to the community center in Wolsung Village, Bukgang-myeon, Geochang-gun, this place was once a building repurposed for different uses. It has now found a new owner who has transformed it into an exotic café.
The café, reminiscent of South America, was established by an owner who has lived abroad and wanted to recreate that atmosphere right next to this location. After a brief personal absence from the village, the owner has returned and beautifully maintained the ambiance.
Parking is available both in front of the community center and in front of the café, making it convenient for visitors. There is also a newly installed hammock on the outdoor deck, perfect for relaxing. They say the café has an even more enchanting atmosphere at night, and I plan to visit again after dark.
The café opens at 11 AM and closes at 6 PM, but reservations are essential if you wish to dine in the evening.
At the café, you can order meals and drinks. We tried a brunch inspired by Argentina and Cuba, along with some iced coffee and homemade Greek yogurt affogato.
While waiting for our food, I explored the first floor, which showcases the owner’s artistic talent. The beautiful weather made the scenery even more stunning.
The view from the café's first floor is delightful. The second floor has a cozy arrangement of seats that cater to different preferences, with a picturesque view of the surrounding mountains and fields.
Notably, there are tents set up, providing a comfortable space for trekkers to relax. Children also found their own little spots to enjoy, making the café a delightful place for families.
Finally, our ordered dishes arrived. The brunch, influenced by Mexican and Argentine styles, was served with pickles and two sauces, which enhanced the flavors without being overwhelming. I highly recommend it as a light brunch option. I usually prefer hot coffee, but today I tried an iced Americano, and it was delightful.
After lunch, I returned to try the dessert, the Greek yogurt affogato. Unlike the typical affogato made with ice cream, this one used Greek yogurt. The combination of espresso, Greek yogurt, and nut chips was unique. At first, it felt unusual, but adding a little sugar made it more familiar. However, I still think affogato is best with ice cream.
If you are looking for unique flavors, I encourage you to give it a try.
This is a great season for travel, especially as this year is designated as the year to visit Geochang. If you're in the area, take a walk along the Seochul Dongryu Trail and make sure to stop by this café to enjoy the atmosphere.
This concludes my weekend experience in Geochang.
