A Spontaneous Chuseok Getaway: Seoul, Yesan, Seosan, and Everland!

Bukchon Hanok Village & Ikseon-dong, Seoul
Yesan & Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do
Everland, Yongin
A record of my last-minute Chuseok holiday trip!
Originally planning to stay home during Chuseok,
I ended up spontaneously traveling around.
Bukchon Hanok Village
Discovering Seoul's charm, which I hadn't known before.
Bukchon Hanok Village
As a self-proclaimed outsider who avoids popular spots,
Seoul felt more foreign to me than the countryside.
Deciding to "burglarize" empty houses during the Chuseok holiday,
I visited Bukchon Hanok Village, which is relatively close to Ilsan.
The Hanok village was so beautiful and well-maintained.
It's already so pretty to Koreans,
I wonder how much more beautiful it must look to foreigners?!
I've noticed a significant increase in foreign tourists in Korea.
It was quite easy to spot them around.
It was a moment of national pride!
Thank you, BTS!
Am I being too late to the party? LOL
Apparently, K-Defender is hotter than BTS these days.
I even took a photo with the Lion Boys!
Although I didn't see K-Defender...
I went to the KAHI pop-up store when they called out,
Took pictures and got a face mask.
Instead of Life4Cut in Bukchon,
There was an old newspaper-themed photo booth,
So I took another shot.
Wow, it's so beautiful even at night.
Seriously,
Seoul is old, but it has a unique urban vibe.
For the first time, I wanted to live within the four main gates.
Walked from Bukchon Hanok Village → to Ikseon-dong
And from Ikseon-dong → to Gwangjang Market again.
I walked to Cheonggyecheon right in front to digest the Yukhoe (raw beef).
Seoul is so charming~????
If I ever make foreign friends later,
I should recommend this travel route!
It was a very, very satisfying "burglarize" of empty houses.
Yesan Market
Everything you eat is guaranteed to be at least average.
I visited Yesan Market again after half a year.
Even though it was the Chuseok holiday, it felt more relaxed than before.
I was still excited by the theme park-like atmosphere.
I was happy to see familiar faces from Les Misérables here and there.
Im Young-jun at Ogamyeon Snack House,
Yang Kyung-min at Yeondon Bolkatzu~
I've already posted about Yesan Market food twice,
So I barely took any photos this time.
What I ate this time:
✔️ Ogamyeon Snack House - Meat Hotteok
✔️ Hupo Red Crab Ramen
✔️ Yesan Tavern - Squid Pancake
✔️ Goryeo Rice Cake Shop - Meat Rice Cake
My favorite Meat Rice Cake at Yesan Market
I had it last time as well,
The chewy white rice cake is so delicious~
The filling inside tastes like vegetable steamed buns.
My boyfriend said it was just okay,
So I was surprised that it's not for everyone.
My boyfriend couldn't eat the Red Crab Ramen last time,
So he was determined to order it this time,
Warning ★ It's really spicy ★
As someone who can't handle spicy food, I couldn't eat more than one bite.
I wish there was a warning about the spiciness.
It felt spicier than Teumsae Ramen.
The owner of Yesan Tavern was very kind.
The cost-effective pancake had big chunks of squid!
The taste was average~
I bought a bag of apples in Yesan, the home of apples,
Even though they didn't seem to be from Yesan.
Yedang Lake Suspension Bridge
Better than expected
I went to Yedang Lake, a tourist attraction in Yesan,
Which is a 15-minute drive from Yesan Market.
I really wanted to ride the monorail,
But even if I bought a ticket now, I would have to wait 2 hours to ride it.
So, I decided to just go to the suspension bridge.
Yedang Lake is a reservoir,
But the scenery was more beautiful than I thought!
I'm actually a weather fairy...????????
When I went up on the bridge,
The cloudy sky cleared up for a moment.
I'm not even surprised anymore..
I feel like a weather fairy every time I travel LOL
Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do
Central Lake Park
If I were to apologize to Seosan????
I thought it would be a small city with a population of 170,000,
With nothing to do and no people.
I went to Central Park in front of my accommodation at night
And I was surprised at how lively it was.
There were many people exercising,
There were many restaurants with all the franchises.
Anyway, my first impression was very good.
I went into the arcade
And was shocked to see a hanged duck.
Oh, the poor beast with a long neck.
Leaving behind the owner's earnest request
To not give up on coffee, I ended my 1-night stay in Seosan and headed to Everland~
I have no photos of Seosan.
Everland
Compliments to the Tornado staff
It was the Chuseok holiday, but it rained,
So Everland was moderately successful in terms of timing.
I entered with a 4 PM after-party ticket
And rode 8 rides, including T-Express in just 25 minutes.
But a raincoat cost ₩16,000 each,
So two raincoats cost as much as one entrance ticket.
The last ride I took before leaving
Everland's Tornado
The staff member's unexpected performance
Was truly spectacular.
It was so funny and hilarious
That the child and the child's mother in front of me
And I laughed so hard that our stomachs hurt.
Since the ride's name is Tornado,
He was waving something like a flag next to it,
It was so ridiculous that it was funny.
I applaud his passion~! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
He even danced~ㅋㅋㅋ
It's really fun to see in person.
If you listen to the sound, the lady in front is
Cheering him on~ cheering him on~ ㅋㅋㅋ
Considering that it was quiet when we rode,
It's not like the part-time worker is dancing every time.
It seems like he's doing it intermittently
While adjusting his condition.
I hereby appoint you as a Everland's landmark~!
End of Chuseok holiday records!
