A Special Summer Vacation at Sudabucks 2

Sudabucks 2 for a special summer vacation
As summer vacation comes to an end,
we were pondering where to go with the kids.
We heard about a special event happening at
Dangjin Youth Cafe Sudabucks 2.
It's the 2026 Sudaday: Responding to Sudacamps!
The event took place on Saturday, August 22, from 2 PM to 5 PM,
celebrating the third birthday of Sudabucks 2.
It was designed for youth to enjoy the last days of summer.
This was not just an ordinary experience event.
For one day, Sudabucks 2 transformed into a cozy rural village called 'Sudari 2'.
Visiting with my two kids, I found everything from the name to the activities was fun and engaging.
Today, we are in 'Sudari 2'!
Upon arriving at the event, the atmosphere felt different from the usual Sudabucks.
Starting with the 'Sudari 2 Village Hall', there were booths resembling a real rural village,
including a vegetable shop, stationery store, repair shop, photo studio, farm, and spring.
What I appreciated most was that the entire event was free!
When going out with kids, even one experience can be costly,
but on this day, we could enjoy various activities for free,
allowing us to spend quality time together without any burden.
Additionally, a stamp challenge was set up,
so every time the kids finished an activity, they were excited to move on to the next booth.
Seeing my kids looking for the map and asking, "Mom, where to next?" was adorable.
At the Han Dami Repair Shop, we made bandanas.
It was wonderful to see the kids creating and decorating their own unique pieces.
These days, kids often receive finished products,
but the experience of making something with their hands is meaningful.
As they compared their creations, saying, "Mine is prettier, right?"
I realized that experiences are best shared with kids.
One of their favorite spots was the alleyway stationery store.
In a space reminiscent of the old stationery store,
they had fun making soft toys,
creating a nostalgic moment for me and a new experience for them.
The 'Memories Rolled Up Cake' booth was adorable.
We made pancakes and cupcakes filled with fruits.
We celebrated the youth cafe's third birthday with a pancake party.
Experiencing and celebrating together felt very warm.
As we checked into 'Cock-a-doodle-doo! Farm',
the event began to feel like a small rural village.
The booths were not just a collection of activities; they were connected with names and stories,
creating a sense of community.
Of course, no event is complete without photos.
At the photo studio, we captured our memories of the day.
Having a photo space allowed us to keep a record of our wonderful day.
Looking back at the photos later,
we will remember, 'We visited Sudari 2 at the end of summer vacation 2026.'
From the garden to the alleyway stationery store,
the highlight was the human nose work experience.
It was an engaging way to enjoy the garden.
The vegetable shop next to the fortune-telling shop made us laugh with its sign saying,
'Not a real vegetable shop.'
The integration of the rural village concept was a fun highlight of the event.
Finally, we cooled off at the spring.
After a hot day of activities, we found a refreshing place!
At the spring, we could enjoy watermelon punch or misutgaru.
If you brought a tumbler, you could receive a cool drink.
It was great to encourage the use of tumblers and reduce disposable items.
We enjoyed our experiences and took a break with a cool drink,
truly experiencing a delightful 'rural vacation'.
The best part of the 2026 Sudaday was the strong feeling of 'the kids being the stars of the event.'
Sudabucks, being a youth space, had various activities where the youth could participate, create, and enjoy.
It was also an open event for preschoolers, making it great for family visits.
Most importantly, instead of staring at their phones,
the kids were making, moving, taking photos, and interacting with each other,
which was heartwarming for me as a mom.
And the fact that it was free!
It can be burdensome to pay for experiences for two kids,
but seeing a local youth space providing diverse programs for free made me feel that Dangjin's youth policies and spaces are getting closer.
Having a space where youth can stay and create memories with friends is essential.
This event celebrated Sudabucks' third anniversary with the youth.
Celebrating the cafe's birthday with the youth and giving them a fun day
showed the role Sudabucks plays in the community.
As the kids grumbled about summer vacation ending,
this Sudacamp beautifully decorated the last page of their vacation.
It’s wonderful to know that we can spend such a fun day
without traveling far from home.
This is the power of the community.
The kids now have one more memory to cherish as they grow up.
Congratulations to Sudabucks on its third anniversary,
and I hope it continues to provide laughter, experiences, and good memories for Dangjin's youth for a long time.
And to the kids feeling sad about the end of summer vacation:
It's okay.
We have the next vacation to look forward to!
The last memory of this summer will surely be
the rural vacation at Sudari 2 with my two kids.
