A Relaxing Getaway to Yangyang: Food, Scenery, and Unique Shops

My recent trip to Yangyang was a delightful experience filled with delicious food, stunning scenery, and unique finds. To start, for dinner after arriving in Yangyang, I visited Samgeori Restaurant, located in Yangnidan-gil. It was a peaceful time to visit as it wasn't peak season, allowing for a relaxing experience.

For accommodation, I stayed at Surf City In The Resort Yangyang. Normally quite pricey, I was able to book it at a reasonable rate as it was off-season. The view and the proximity to the ocean were exceptional.

The next day, I visited Hajodae Sundaeguk, a local restaurant known for its Korean blood sausage soup. Featured on the TV show Baekban Kichaeng, it lived up to the hype. The soup was delicious, and despite the quiet neighborhood, the restaurant was bustling with customers.

Next, I explored Yangyang Sangjeom, a charming gift shop filled with adorable and unique items. There were so many lovely things that were hard to resist buying!

Another wonderful gift shop I visited was Maeumi Donghae. This place is also a cafe, the interior design was amazing, and the variety of items alongside the cafe made for a pleasant experience.

I also discovered Seol-on, a unique bathhouse-themed cafe. This place previously operated as an outdoor hot spring and has been transformed into a cafe with a fantastic atmosphere. The interior retains the feel of a bathhouse, and there's an outdoor foot bath available for a relaxing experience.

A must-visit is Naksansa Temple, a famous temple in Yangyang and a popular tourist spot. While there's ample parking, it can still get crowded. The temple grounds are beautiful, and the scenery is breathtaking, creating a wonderful atmosphere.

Lastly, I visited the Osan-ri Prehistoric Site and Museum. The wide reed field in front of the museum is perfect for a leisurely stroll. The large pit houses on display offer a glimpse into the past, making it a great educational spot, especially for families with children.

Of course, I also indulged in some delicious food, including the Songi Chicken Gangjeong (sweet and sour chicken) and the Squid Sundae from Gonggane Ongsimi. The market area is easy to navigate, making it a convenient place to grab some tasty snacks for a late-night treat at your accommodation.

Finally, I visited Hyuhyuam in the morning before leaving. Yangyang offers a lot to see and experience, with a strong sense of nature, making it a great destination on the east coast.
