A Perfect 1 Night 2 Day Trip to Daejeon: Recommended Itinerary

During my recent summer vacation, I took a spontaneous 1-night, 2-day trip to Daejeon with my close work team members!
Despite being planned in just one hour by a group of dedicated procrastinators (affectionately known as "Power Ps"), this itinerary features carefully selected must-visit spots in Daejeon!
Are you ready to explore this 1-night, 2-day itinerary filled with places that are perfect for female travelers, friendship trips, dates, or even family vacations?
01. Kkumdori House
Address: 3, Jungang-ro 203beon-gil, Dong-gu, Daejeon
Kkumdori House is closed every Monday! I visited on a Monday and found it closed, so I had to revisit the next day!
You can reach Kkumdori House by taking Exit 2 at Daejeon Station and walking straight. The operating hours are from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday to Friday.
Kkumdori House is named after "Kkumdori," the mascot of the Daejeon Expo. It features various character goods of Kkumdori and Kkumsuni!
The first floor sells Kkumdori ramen, Kkumdori merchandise (keychains, stickers, reusable items, etc.), and also offers photo zones!
On the second floor, you can experience a Daejeon VR tour inside a Mini Cooper. It only has two seats, so it was a bit difficult for our group of three. There's also a photo zone where I took a picture!
The third floor has a screen zone where you can watch videos, and there are chairs available. Kkumdori Noodle Shop is also located 7 minutes away from Daejeon Station. I recommend visiting and trying it out!

02. Made by
Address: 14, Junggyo-ro 73beon-gil, Jung-gu, Daejeon
I love visiting lifestyle shops when I travel. Made by is a well-known chain, and the store spans from basement level 1 to the 4th floor!
You can find tableware, household goods, and posters.
In today's era of self-promotion and self-expression, you can even create your own custom keychain! I considered making one but decided to pass.
If you come to Made by, you absolutely must create your own notebook! I've seen many places offering DIY keychains and album making, but this is the first time I've seen a place where you can create a notebook exactly as you want it!
To be honest, I often end up not using notebooks that I don't like or that don't fit my style. I picked a basket style design.
I shopped for notebooks and stickers with my colleagues, each creating their own unique designs. It ended up costing me a little over ₩10,000 because it was DIY, which might seem expensive for a notebook! But it's the only notebook of its kind in the world! Buying it significantly increased my satisfaction with the trip, so I recommend checking it out!
03. Lamkid Cafe
Address: 29, Seonhwaseo-ro, Jung-gu, Daejeon, 1st floor
Isn't the atmosphere of these photos just gorgeous? Lamkid Cafe sells Kkumdori pudding, the mascot of Daejeon!
The cafe's menu isn't very extensive, with only about 20 items. However, they do offer signature drinks and desserts. The prices are generally reasonable for a cafe!
ICE Americano: ₩4,000
Lemonade: ₩5,500
Kkumdori Pudding (Milk/Strawberry): ₩13,000
Even though I visited on a weekday, the cafe was crowded, so I put my name on the waiting list and decided to wait in the basement!
If you leave a receipt review, you get a fan and stickers!
If you don't want to wait, some people sit and eat in the basement, or you can play board games while you wait.
The atmosphere in the basement is quite different from the cafe on the first floor. While there are several perfumes available, there's also a musty, moldy smell. The board games are also a bit worn and tattered, so I don't recommend the basement. The smell might ruin your appetite if you're sensitive to odors. (But I did have fun playing Rummikub!)
After the wait, I received a call and went upstairs to pick up my order. Isn't Kkumdori so cute? They provide caramel sauce, which you can pour over the plain milk-flavored pudding to add a strong sweetness!

04. Sungsimdang
Address: 15, Daejong-ro 480beon-gil, Jung-gu, Daejeon, 1-2 floors
Some people say they go to Daejeon just for Sungsimdang. I wanted to try the Mango Siru, but it was sold out. So, I tried the Saenggyul Siru (Mandarin Orange Siru) for the first time.
Now I understand why everyone raves about Sungsimdang!
The Saenggyul Siru costs ₩43,000 for a size 1 cake, and you can purchase a cake cooler bag for an additional ₩3,500. There is a limit of one Saenggyul Siru per person.
Adding the cooler bag allows you to store it for up to 6 hours!
They also sell other fruit siru cakes, but I decided on the Saenggyul Siru with yogurt cream!
These days, even brand-name cakes with just a bit of cream cost around ₩30,000-40,000, so considering the amount of mandarin oranges that go into Sungsimdang's Saenggyul Siru, it's actually quite reasonable!
The Saenggyul Siru is filled with mandarin oranges! The combination of yogurt cream and mandarin oranges is sweet and tangy. Think of it as a cake you eat with a spoon. It's really sweet but not artificial, and it doesn't get old.
Next time, I want to try the Mango Siru and Strawberry Siru and leave a review!

05. Reuse Vintage Shop
Address: 484, Daejong-ro, Jung-gu, Daejeon
I visited Reuse, a vintage clothing store located right next to Sungsimdang at Exit 2 of Jungangno Station. They sell a variety of affordable and well-maintained clothing!
They offer a wide range of clothing, including new items, knits, shirts, dresses, skirts, and outerwear, mostly priced between ₩10,000 and ₩20,000. It's a very cost-effective and clean store!
I bought three items (one short-sleeved shirt, one long-sleeved shirt, and one dress) for ₩26,000 in cash. The long-sleeved shirt you see on the right is also from Reuse, and it was only ₩9,000!
If you look carefully, you can find many good quality items, so I recommend checking it out!
I also visited Vintage King, Boucle Vintage, and Your Vintage, but they weren't really my style, and I didn't find anything I liked. But if you're a vintage enthusiast, you might want to check them out!

06. Boksu Bunsik
Address: 27, Junggyo-ro, Jung-gu, Daejeon, 1st floor
Boksu Bunsik is located about a 10-minute walk from Jung-gu Office Station. Despite the name "Bunsik" (snack bar), it's famous in Daejeon for its spicy kalguksu (noodle soup) and dubu-duruchigi (tofu and pork stir-fry)! (I visited because a food YouTuber recommended it!)
They offer a variety of dishes. For a group of three, we ordered the following, which cost less than ₩40,000…
Spicy Kalguksu (1 serving): ₩9,000
Squid & Tofu Duruchigi: ₩23,000
DIY Rice Balls (x2): ₩6,000
You'll regret it if you come to Daejeon and don't visit this place!
The red Squid & Tofu Duruchigi was quite spicy and so delicious! People who don't order the spicy kalguksu often add noodles to the duruchigi.
The spicy kalguksu also includes crown daisy. I'm a picky eater, so I only ate the noodles, but the noodles were well-soaked in the broth and very tasty. It's the perfect combination with the rice balls!
This place is so memorable that I want to visit again! I highly recommend it!

I've shared a variety of places, including an exhibition, Sungsimdang, a vintage shop, a cafe, a lifestyle shop, and delicious restaurants! Of course, I visited many places during my 1-night, 2-day trip to Daejeon, but I've carefully selected just six. If you're planning a trip to Daejeon, I recommend visiting these places!
I'll be back with more helpful content in my next post! Have a great day, and if you have any questions, please leave a comment!
