A Journey to the Tranquil Healing Space of Solmoe

A place to lighten the weight of everyday life
A mystical healing space
A travel destination to trace the footsteps of Korea's first priest, Father Kim Dae-geon
Upon entering Solmoe Shrine, the birthplace of Father Kim Dae-geon,
you will find a serene place that offers peaceful rest to everyone, regardless of their beliefs.
Welcomed by the lush pine forest and the gentle sound of the wind,
it truly is a healing space.
In 2021, Father Kim Dae-geon was recognized for his achievements and spirituality,
and was designated as a UNESCO World Commemorative Figure.
The pine forest trail near Father Kim's birthplace at Solmoe Shrine is famous for its healing walks.
The dense forest, which inspired the name Solmoe (Pine Mountain),
offers moments of solace accompanied by the scent of pine.
Walking along the pine forest trail, which is over 100 years old,
is a natural remedy that relieves fatigue.
This was one of my favorite places.
Along with the pine forest trail, the Via Crucis around the cathedral features various bronze sculptures.
These sculptures depict key events, such as Jesus receiving the death sentence from Pilate and carrying the cross to Golgotha.
Viewing these sculptures, filled with various emotions and situations,
provided a special opportunity to reflect on my own worries and let them go.
The view of the cathedral from above is stunning.
The memorials visited by Pope Francis in 2014,
the statue of the Virgin Mary,
and the magnificent flower-shaped cathedral
make Solmoe Shrine a place filled with sacred art.
Experience it through the accompanying visuals.
