A Journey Through Gangneung, Yangyang, and Sokcho: Coastal Delights of Gangwon-do

I saw this sign so many times traveling between Gangneung, Yangyang, and Sokcho!
Driving along Donghae-daero Road.
Gangneung
Base Camp Glamping, where I stayed in Gangneung.
We bought groceries from Gangneung Central Market and had a BBQ.
Pet-friendly and very comfortable.
Caravans remodeled from buses were also available.
Right near Base Camp Glamping is
Sacheon Port.
A quiet stroll to the white lighthouse at night.
It was the best healing summer night.
Among the many beaches in Gangwon-do,
Jumunjin felt particularly peaceful and comforting.
Jumunjin
Shows up on the navigation as 'Goblin Filming Location'.
Gangneung Jumunjin cafe where you can sit and look out over Jumunjin:
Cafe Tteul, Sinabro.
At Gangneung Jumunjin's
Gangnaengi Sokkuri, where the cafe's concept and name are a perfect match.
Sitting on the wooden porch,
I ate a patented Gangnaengi (corn) ice cream made by deeply brewing Gangwon-do's glutinous corn.
At Anmok Beach,
It was the first time in my life that I saw the sunrise.
Donghwa Garden's famous spicy Jjamppong Sundubu (tofu stew) in Gangneung's Chodang Sundubu Village.
It was worth the wait.
But it was really spicy ㅎㅎ
Near Donghwa Garden,
I also ate Jjamppong Sundubu at another Sundubu restaurant with no wait.
It wasn't super delicious, but
It was okay.
After eating Chodang Sundubu,
I went to Gangneung Sand Chodang Direct Store
And stocked up on Gangneung Sand as souvenirs.
They are great for gifts and so delicious!
Yangyang
Dog paradise, Yangyang Mung Beach -
Peace is here -
I did an open run to Farmer's Kitchen, Yangyang's famous handmade burger place.
Even though I went early,
I waited for about an hour.
It was tasty, but whether it was worth waiting an hour is
Slightly questionable.
Everything is about the mood! I eat with the mood!
There is a terrace seat,
Indoor seats on the 2nd floor, and a rooftop.

Huhyuam was so nice.
I parked the car in the public parking lot below the entrance to Huhyuam and
Climbed up a steep hill,
But there were cars going up the hill?
There was a parking lot on top of the hill... ㅠ
Anyway.
Isn't the name Huhyuam so cute?
Rest, rest, Huhyuam ㅎㅎ
I like historical temples, but
It's a careful thing to say,
But I really enjoy temples that have
Slightly kitsch and chaotic statues and sculptures.
The best I've been to with this vibe is
Tin Hau Temple in Repulse Bay, Hong Kong.
At Huhyuam, while enjoying peaceful ocean views,
If you turn around, the statues greet you, saying, Welcome! Rest and go with a smile!

I made a wish while praying,
And walked around the statue in a big circle.
Naksansa Temple was really nice, but I didn't take any pictures.
If you go to Yangyang, be sure to visit Naksansa Temple.
The ocean view from Naksansa Temple and
The large Avalokitesvara statue are really amazing.
And the scenery I stopped to see while getting gas,
A picture of the ocean from somewhere -
Since I came to Gangwon-do, I had to eat a crab set.
I went to a neighborhood in Sokcho where seafood restaurants are gathered.

I like the big places, but
I comfortably enjoyed a crab set while sitting in a small room with a sea view.
Full of celebrity autographs.
The final seafood ramen was so delicious.
Highly recommend.
Went to Sokcho Central Market,
Ate a full meal of various snacks,
Finished at Sokcho Beach.
Looking at Sokcho Eye,
I wondered if I would come again someday.
Thank you, Gangwon-do -
Thanks to you, my complicated mind is getting lighter.
