A Free Healing Trip in Yesan: Traditional Korean Cuisine, Apple Pie, and More!

Imagine experiencing a rejuvenating trip to Yesan, complete with traditional Korean cuisine, sweet apple pie, and transportation, all for free! For a nominal fee of 3,000 won, you can embark on an unforgettable healing journey. I recently participated in this program and was amazed by the comprehensive itinerary and exceptional service.
Today, I'm excited to share a detailed overview of the 'Free Healing Trip' program I experienced in Yesan!
The highlight of this trip is that the "Yesan traditional Korean set menu + sweet apple pie + chartered bus + (in the case of a stay-over) accommodation" are all free! The 3,000 won participation fee serves as a 'no-show prevention cost' and is non-refundable. However, Yesan County and the organizers cover all other expenses, making it feel like a delightful picnic.
The program is perfect for families, friends, and couples seeking a relaxing and fulfilling getaway.
The journey began at 1 PM at Yesan Station, where we checked in and boarded the chartered bus. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation and excitement. The meticulous and friendly guidance ensured a smooth and worry-free start to the trip.
Adding to the experience was a delightful gift package that included a warm pack to ward off the winter chill, snacks to satisfy hunger, water to quench thirst, and a comfortable cushion for the journey. The thoughtfulness of these carefully prepared items was truly touching.
The National Yesan Healing Forest was a haven of natural tranquility. The air was fresh, and the sounds of birds and the scent of the forest enveloped us as we strolled through the towering trees. It was a truly restorative experience for both body and mind. This space is perfect for those who enjoy camping, forest walks, or exercise.
The National Yesan Healing Forest is renowned for its systematic natural healing programs, including meditation, forest walks, and nature observation. Participants can choose programs that suit their interests and physical abilities.
The Healing Forest's pristine environment is also home to fireflies, indicating its clean water and environment, making it an ideal place for families with children to enjoy ecological experiences.
Apple picking and winery tours were highlights of the trip. Starting at 3 PM, we had the opportunity to pick fresh apples and savor their deliciousness on the spot. It was an enjoyable activity for both children and adults.
At the winery, we learned about the apple wine-making process, offering a fascinating glimpse into the history and secrets of this unique beverage. The experience was enjoyable for all ages, making it particularly appealing to families.
The Sanchae Bibimbap (mountain vegetable bibimbap) we had in front of Sudeoksa Temple was exceptional. After spending time in the Healing Forest, the bibimbap, filled with the forest's energy, tasted even more special.
The dish was packed with fresh, wild greens, offering a delightful blend of earthy and savory flavors. The clean taste, free from artificial seasonings, was truly remarkable. Eating in the serene atmosphere of Sudeoksa Temple added to the experience.
The harmonious colors of the various vegetables were visually appealing, and the unique textures made it a fun and satisfying meal. It felt like a recharge for the body and mind, revitalized by the fresh vegetables.
After the first day, we checked into a warm spa hotel. Soaking in the warm water was incredibly relaxing, melting away the fatigue from a day of fresh air and activities. It was a perfect way to end the day.
The hotel was conveniently located near other healing spots, including the Deoksan Hot Springs Foot Bath, the beautiful Metasequoia Road, and the Barefoot Hwangto (red clay) Path.
The Barefoot Hwangto Path, near the Deoksan Hot Springs Foot Bath, offered a unique experience of walking barefoot on moist red clay, providing excellent acupressure benefits. The Metasequoia Road offered stunning scenery, allowing adults to enjoy peaceful contemplation and children to have fun playing in nature.
The next morning, after a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we departed at 9 AM for Yedang Lake, where we crossed the longest suspension bridge in the country. The misty scenery created a breathtaking moment where nature and people harmonized.
A walk along the Slow Lake Trail was the perfect way to unwind and calm the mind.
The trip concluded seamlessly at Yesan Station, leaving no room for boredom. The two-day itinerary was packed with enriching and relaxing experiences.
It was hard to believe that such a fulfilling experience was possible for just 3,000 won.
This was a complete healing trip, encompassing delicious food, excellent service, engaging activities, comfortable accommodations, and stunning natural scenery.
I highly recommend this trip and wanted to share my experience so that more people can discover this hidden gem.
Thank you to Yesan County for organizing this program, and to the staff at One Trees Music for their support.
