A Fantastic Day Trip to Chungju: Water Park, History, and Beautiful Scenery!

Chungju is relatively close to our home, so we took a train trip there last time. It's a great area for a day trip, and surprisingly, there's a lot to do!
This time, we decided to visit the water park.
Since it's run by the government, I didn't have high expectations.
But!!!!!!! We've already decided to go again next week, and every year from now on!
It's seriously amazing. Absolutely wonderful.
We bought our tickets at the ticket booth.
(The ticket prices are very affordable: ₩10,000 for adults and ₩8,000 for children.)
We put on our goggles with a determined look.
The whole family wore rash guards from home because we expected the changing rooms to be subpar... But that was a huge misjudgment!
Clean changing rooms, showers, and restrooms were waiting for us.
Outside food is allowed.
All you need to bring is a picnic mat.
Sihun also put on his goggles and got ready.
I always thought lazy rivers were only found in water parks. I had the impression that government-run places just had regular pools with poor water quality (sorry...).
Can you believe there's a lazy river at this price? Unbelievable!
And it's surprisingly fast!
We floated around and enjoyed the clouds.
The best thing about this place is that they operate for 50 minutes and then have a mandatory 10-minute break. Everyone has to get out, and they reorganize.
Usually, at water parks or swimming pools, the kids don't want to leave the water, which is a struggle, but with this mandatory break, it prevents them from overdoing it.
There are many staff members managing the area.
A view of the rest time.

It was a shame that adults couldn't go on the slides.
The kids were very excited.
It's right next to the Tangeumho Lake.
You can look out at the lake from the swimming pool.
Another great thing is that it closes at 5 PM.
Actually, it ends at 4:50 PM.
Thank you for saving us!
We're eating tornado potatoes after swimming.
We went to a buckwheat noodle restaurant nearby. The black sesame buckwheat noodles were delicious, but the others were just okay...

We decided to visit Jungangtap (Central Pagoda).
Jungangtap is said to be located in the very center of Korea.
It's a national treasure.
It's magnificent.

Excited movements.

Jungangtap = Chungju Tappyeong-ri Seven-Story Stone Pagoda.
We did a little history lesson.

We could go right up to it, so it was a forced hike.

I was dragged up too and briefly stood at the top.
We decided to go down and take a walk by the lake.

The view is absolutely beautiful.
I didn't know Chungju was a city of water!

You can't exit the walking path in the middle, so you have to walk a bit and then turn back.
We're discussing where to visit next time.

The view is so pretty.
The weather helped a lot.

I love you, Chungju!

I took a picture of my beautiful girl.
A loving father-daughter relationship. Sometimes they're sickeningly close.

A running race.
Running swiftly.
Looking at a dead praying mantis.
A sculpture floating in the water; it's a moon rabbit.
There are many pretty things.

The park is very large.
Seoyeon relaxing on a swing before going home.
Let's go home now~

Ah! Another good thing about Tangeumho Water Park!
When we were leaving, I saw that they were draining all the water from the water park.
Wow... they must drain it all, clean it, and then refill it.
So impressive...
I didn't expect much from the water quality at the water park, but it's very well managed.
I'll come again, Chungju~~~
Conversations with the kids at the swimming pool:
#1
During the 10-minute break, they were bored, so we were bickering about whether to watch TV or not.
Seoyeon: "Hogisim Ttakji (Curiosity Patch) and Labrador are okay."
"Hogisim Ttakji tells you what you're curious about, and Labrador tells you what you shouldn't do if you do it."
So we watched Labrador. It's strangely convincing.
#2
While walking around Tangeumho Lake,
Dad: "There are so many places to visit in Chungju~~~"
Seoyeon: "Are we going now?"
Dad: "No, not now..."
Seoyeon: "Then why are you saying that? To make me want to go?"
Dad: ...
Dad is always sorry.
#3
Dad looking at the historical site description again.
Dad: "There are many historical sites in Chungju."
Seoyeon: "History flows~~ (starts singing)"
Seoyeon, who loves to sing, sings a lot and likes to add a melody to her words.
