A Day Trip to Incheon: Parks, Villages, and Chinatown Delights

To celebrate the weekend, I took a day trip to Incheon with a friend. It was a short trip, but I also had some business to take care of there, so it worked out perfectly! Our first stop was Songdo Central Park, where you can take a boat and visit cafes. Despite it being the weekend, it wasn't crowded at all and was a peaceful, quiet place.

The flowing river and tranquil park were simply wonderful!
We thought about taking a boat ride, but decided to skip it due to the cost!
Looking around for nearby attractions, we discovered a Hanok (traditional Korean house) village and a Hanok-style cafe. There was also a garden and even a small deer farm nearby, which surprised us. We had a great time exploring and chatting.
The Hanok village garden was so beautifully decorated that it was a photographer's dream.^^

Our second destination was Incheon Chinatown! At first glance, I wasn't too impressed, but I was wrong! The deeper we ventured into the alleys, the more amazing places we discovered! I have memories of walking around and discovering these awesome spaces. There were many charming spaces and small exhibitions. We even stumbled upon a Japanese-style house built during the colonial period. The area wasn't crowded on the day we visited, which made us feel lucky.

Here's a photo of plants displayed at a cafe in an alley in Incheon Chinatown. They accept local spending coupons.
There's a book called "The Ghost of Daebul Hotel," which I haven't read yet, but I'm not sure if the location in the book is the same place. It makes me want to read the book!

The buildings were charming and small, blending in perfectly with the quiet village atmosphere, making it a truly atmospheric and enjoyable place. We didn't feel tired at all, even after walking a lot.
There was a bookstore in the shopping street, but it was closed, so we just looked around from the outside.

You can't talk about Incheon Chinatown without mentioning Jajangmyeon (black bean noodles). A chef who used to cook at Gonghwachun (a famous Jajangmyeon restaurant at the top of Chinatown) now has his own restaurant at the entrance of Chinatown. As soon as we arrived, we saw a long line of people waiting, so we quickly joined the queue and enjoyed a delicious meal. I ordered the Yuni Jajangmyeon, and the meat sauce was so savory and delicious!

Below are photos of items from souvenir shops in the nearby shopping street. I didn't go inside, but the displays were so pretty that I had to take some pictures!

That's it! This was my day trip to Incheon with a friend in August.
I had mixed feelings about visiting Incheon based on what people said, but it exceeded my expectations!
We walked a lot, which was good exercise, and I even bought Gonggalppang (Chinese sugar pancake), but I didn't take a picture of it. For me, the back alleys of Incheon Chinatown were the highlight of the day. The alleys were so pretty and had a charming, old-fashioned atmosphere, which made the trip even better. Thank you.^^
