Hello everyone! Today, we're sharing our 2-night, 3-day trip to the western side of Jeju Island. We're the "Root Crop Couple" – I resemble a sweet potato, and my boyfriend looks like a potato!

We'll also be introducing some truly amazing restaurants that we discovered while traveling around western Jeju for three days.

For accommodation, we booked a hotel near the airport for the first night and a pension near Hyeopjae Beach for the second. So, our Jeju Island itinerary involves heading down and then making our way back up.

We hope this post is helpful for those planning a trip! Let's get started –

Day 1

Beach Walk - Aewol Black Pork - Tamra Stay (Accommodation)

We took public transportation to the airport. Before departing, we grabbed a quick bite at Isaac Toast, then transferred from Moran Station to Seonjeongneung Station to reach Gimpo Airport Station.

As soon as we arrived at Gimpo Airport, we did self-check-in first.

By the way, did you know that Gimpo Airport now has a bio-registration system? It's a system where you register your personal information at a kiosk, allowing you to enter the departure area quickly. If you're going to Gimpo Airport, be sure to use bio-registration! You can easily register via mobile by scanning a QR code to download the app.

But this is where disaster struck...

I'll tell you about it later...

The Chinese restaurant inside the airport had surprisingly spicy jjampong (spicy seafood noodle soup). The Baekmidang ice cream is really delicious!

We used T'way Air to go to Jeju Airport, and the flight time was generous at 6:30 PM, so we enjoyed the restaurants and Baekmidang in Gimpo Airport.

Do you know what the disaster I mentioned above was?

It was missing our flight! ^ㅡ^

We were waiting at Baekmidang, spacing out while eating ice cream, when my boyfriend received a call from a blocked number.

It was the airline informing us that the flight was departing early...

So we rushed over, thinking, "It's a good thing we did bio-registration!"

But...

Turns out, to use bio-registration, the name on your ticket and ID must match.

Which meant we needed a passport...

While we were panicking, the plane took off...

We paid an extra fee of 180,000 won and took the next flight.

Make sure to check that the name on your ticket matches your ID when using bio-registration.

And don't space out! ^^ We learned a lot on our first day of our Jeju trip haha

The turbulent flight -

Spending almost the cost of a ticket to Japan to go to Jeju Island (tears)

It was my first time taking a night flight since Vietnam, and the night view was really pretty.

Arrived at Jeju Airport,

We were both so exhausted when we arrived that we were worried about having a good time, but we held hands tightly and had a great time.

There was a Snoopy pop-up store inside Jeju Airport.

There were many cute accessories, but we were too hungry, so we passed -

But we couldn't resist taking a photo, could we?

We took a quick photo and went to pick up our rental car.

Jeju Rental Car Information

Jeju Angel Rent-a-Car

We purchased a package deal that included accommodation and a rental car from Trip.com.

Also, if you rent an electric car when traveling to Jeju, there is an event where you receive Tamnaneunjeon (Jeju local currency), so it would be good to look into that.

Angel Car requires you to take a pickup bus from the airport parking lot to the rental car company.

The Angel Car pickup bus comes every 15 minutes, so you must run to catch it when you see it.

Once you arrive at Jeju Angel Car, go to the pickup zone you see there and get your car keys.

First, print out the receipt from the kiosk.

You must register the driver with your driver's license, not your ID card.

You will also receive a parking pass when you receive your car key.

It seems useful to use when parking -

Potato Dori getting excited to pick up the rented car,

Arrived at the accommodation

We spent the first night at Tamra Stay near the airport.

The pictures came out too dark because it was night.

I will post more detailed information about the accommodation separately.

There was a path to the sea right behind the accommodation.

The night view was so beautiful that it was nice to take a walk.

The sea breeze was cool, and taking a walk while watching the gentle waves made me really feel like I was in Jeju.

For a late dinner,

We visited Aewol Black Pork Daedam, which we had booked in advance.

If you make a reservation through Naver, you will also get a coupon for seasoned pork skirt meat, so I recommend making a reservation through Naver.

Daedam is said to be a Jeju black pork restaurant that BTS' Jin visited.

I thought it was just advertising, but it was really delicious.

There was no gamey smell, and the meat was thick.

When I chewed it, the juice came out and it was so savory and delicious.

My boyfriend tasted the kimchi stew and said he regretted bringing the car.

It wasn't just any kimchi stew in a meat restaurant, but it was really great with alcohol.

The steamed egg was also plentiful and fluffy, and it was a taste that I kept reaching for.

/ Detailed review here /

Because we arrived late, we were so tired.

We only ate dinner, and the last thing we did on the first day was

We bought some simple beer and snacks at the Jeju Tamra Stay Hotel convenience store and came in.

For tomorrow, we had a small beer together

We went to bed early.
