A Busan Getaway: Family Trip Before the Summer Ends!

August 2025
One day in August, after a series of heatwave attacks that nearly made me faint, followed by unpleasant showers and crazy humidity... my long-awaited vacation day was approaching! It's been such a long time since our last family trip, and even longer since I've been to Busan! But... it's a busy season at work, so I'm carrying some uncomfortable feelings with me... but let's go for a summer vacation before school starts!
Before leaving, I grabbed a burger at the ice cream shop. Surprisingly, the burger wasn't bad! Then, off to Suseo Station to catch the SRT train!
On the way, all I could see was a dark background, so I wondered if it was a train that only traveled underground. LOL. Sunny skies ahead! It's only my second time riding the SRT since I rode it when I was much younger, but it's not bad! I'd consider taking it again next time. Hehe.

Hi! It's been three years since I last came here when I was 23. Reunited with Busan Station! As soon as I got off, it was incredibly humid, but it's probably on par with the heat in Seoul.
I used to be a hardcore planner, but at some point, I stopped planning things so meticulously. I roughly figured out the route and went to see the ocean! Let's go on a trip with my parents! It's healing to look at the sea and listen to the gentle waves when I'm tired.

I met the cutest little kitten! I almost wanted to put it in my pocket and run away! Cuteness is dangerous to the heart. As befitting a trip with my parents... just 5 minutes in, I received a heat-related complaint, so we went to a cafe. Sigh...
Enjoyed a sweet, dark beverage. Thankfully, there were plenty of nice cafes in the tourist area.

Mom bought it for me! Hehe. I really liked how cute it was. It's 19,000 won, but I probably wouldn't have bought it with my own money. Thanks, Mom!
I look like a filial son, so I blurred out everyone's faces except mine. LOL. Shockingly, it's the first time they've ever taken photos like this. I'm still the youngest, in a way. ^^

Escaped to the accommodation due to the extreme heat. It's a cozy and stylish Airbnb in Haeundae. So good!
I stayed in Room 3, and I loved the low bed and the subtle, dim lighting. Makes me want to live in a place like this.

Early dinner at Mae Hwa Rang. It wasn't great. Boo. I should have just had my usual green plum drink. The aged kimchi and sliced raw fish were amazing! So good!
After dinner, we went to Hwangnyeongsan Beacon Hill. I had a hard time before when I took a taxi up there with Rani, and we couldn't catch a taxi to get back down, but thanks to my mom, the best driver, we got there and back easily.

The view from above is always the best!
We had some canned beer at home and went to sleep. Sapporo is so delicious! My favorite Heineken Silver was out of stock, so I chose this as a second option, and it was surprisingly smooth. When it's hot, nothing beats a cold beer! I even added a cute Gromit charm. Isn't it cute?

Woke up and had braised cutlassfish and seafood scallion pancake. Dongnae pancake! I've been curious about it since I saw it on a food show when I was younger, and it's definitely something that makes you crave green plum soda. Four and a half stars! But because of my cold, I had to refrain from drinking green plum soda. A mature adult who knows how to control themselves! Heh.

Went to Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, which I used to visit with my dad and grandpa when I was a kid. Korean aesthetics really match well with clear days and vibrant colors. The photos turned out great! I wonder what the 'Haedong' in Haedong Yonggungsa means. I know 'Hae' means sea... Let's go on a tour of Yonggungsa with lots of question marks!

As the name suggests, there were little dragons hidden everywhere. It's a temple by the sea, so it's beautiful, but the water was too dirty, so the beauty score is deducted. Boo. I also bowed to Buddha after a long time. I'm actually a genuine Buddhist, not just a fashionable one. LOL

Felt like I was melting, so I had some dark beverage. It felt like I was inside an air fryer. Seriously!

I lost the battle against the heat and got knocked out, so I went back to the accommodation and slept. When I came out after sunset, it was heaven! Go away, summer!

Our accommodation was in the heart of Haeundae, so we went to a lively restaurant in front and had something delicious. Chicken is always a good choice. Since I had a cold, I only had one piña colada and resisted the urge to have more. I'm a little proud of myself!

The combination of the cool weather and the cute moon made me want to take a walk, so I took a stroll around Dongbaek Island. It felt good to walk while listening to the sound of the night sea. I walked for two hours, went back, showered, and fell asleep instantly. I fall asleep anywhere as long as it's cozy.

It's already the last day. My vacation was definitely stolen. I'd be grateful if they could at least refund half of it. My favorite fish cake store! Went to Goraesa Fishcake and had an appetizer. Yummy.

Went to Jagalchi Market and had grilled cutlassfish and mackerel, but it was so salty! Boo. But I ate with fish filleting experts, so I only ate the meaty parts. Smart boy!

After eating, I gazed at the sea, even though it was hot. If I lived by the sea, I'd probably spend a lot of time spacing out.

Paid a visit to the Little Prince's place. The Little Prince is one of my favorite books. Did you know? The Little Prince is a philosophical book. It's a book that resonates with people who struggle with relationships. Sometimes, it can be read from different perspectives. You should read it!

Try to get along with the fox instead of trying to read their mind.

Also bought a cute mini painting from the gallery.

Seems like the best choice before going home? I ate it all up! Saengtak Makgeolli was refreshing and sweet, which I liked. So yummy.

Experienced the southern region after a long time. I traveled around quite well without a plan. Now, let's change to a cool and chilly season! Wishing you all the best for the remaining fourth quarter of the year!

The end.
