A 3-Day Trip to Andong: A Travel Itinerary for Every Season

These days, the cool breeze of autumn is already in the air during mornings and evenings, making me think that fall has arrived.
I visited Andong in the sweltering heat of July, but now, from September to October, it would be even better. Here's a 3-day, 2-night Andong travel itinerary!
Day 1 Itinerary
Travel from Seoul to Andong → Hahoe Folk Village → Check-in & Rest at Hotel (Stanford Hotel) → Dinner (Daejanggeum Jjimdak) → Return to Hotel
Our short summer vacation started after finishing our morning health checkup with Goo!
I mentally prepared myself for the heat, but the weather was even more intense than I expected, and I was sweating buckets.
Still, Hahoe Village was peaceful and beautiful (except for the weather). Now, in September, it's the perfect time to go, so hurry up and visit!

After touring Hahoe Village, don't miss taking an Andong Hahoe Cut at the building you see when you get off the shuttle bus.
The sweat was pouring down like rain, making any further activities impossible. I went back to the hotel, took a shower, rested, and realized once again that indoor places are heaven in the summer.
The Stanford Hotel, where I stayed for one night in Andong, has great facilities and cleanliness, but it's a bit of a shame that it's far from the city center.
But it's very close to Hahoe Village!
The original plan was to eat Jjimdak (braised chicken) in the Jjimdak Alley when we moved to the old downtown area the next day, but I wanted it so much that evening, so we went all the way to the city center.
The Jjimdak was delicious, but it took quite a while to get from the Stanford Hotel to Jjimdak Alley, so I wouldn't recommend this dinner route.
But Daejanggeum Jjimdak is delicious, so be sure to visit it when you go to the old market!
The best way to end a trip is by watching TV and drinking beer at the hotel. It's the happiest moment!
I watched the famous movie 'Joint Security Area' for the first time that day, and as expected, a masterpiece transcends time. It's an old movie, but I enjoyed it very much.

Day 2 Itinerary
Hotel Check-out → Hanwoo Livestock Restaurant for Brunch → Cafe → Mammoth Bakery & Achaga → Check-in at Hoduga Hanok Stay → Silla Gukbap for Dinner → Nakgang Mulgil Park & Yeongwol Bridge → Takeout Okgeori Yukhoe & Return to Accommodation
I woke up late and checked out of the hotel. The view from the full-length window was so beautiful, but I was also worried about how hot it would be outside today.
Starting the day with grilled beef is quite a happy thing. The price is good, and the Korean beef melted in my mouth.

After a happy brunch, I stopped by a nearby Hanaro Mart to buy fruit and alcohol to take to the accommodation.
Peaches are famous in this area, so it was amazing to see them selling peaches individually at the mart.
More than anything, isn't it cute that there are floral gloves hanging there to prevent bruising when picking peaches?
There was some time until check-in was possible, but I didn't dare to go outside, so I spent time at an air-conditioned indoor cafe.
Paul Moost Okdong Branch doesn't really have a view, so it doesn't seem as worthwhile as the main branch.
Personally, it's not a place I would go out of my way to visit!
However, whatever else you do, don't miss this place. Mammoth Bakery and Achaga near Andong Old Market.
⭐ Especially Achaga Gelato!!!!! ⭐

This is a place you MUST save and go to!
Save it quickly. Achaga. Riso. The best.
And then I finally met this accommodation of my life... Hoduga Hanok Stay.
A truly emotional place, with no unattractive corner. The cute garden, the interior that blends modern and traditional Korean architecture, and the huge jacuzzi...
It was a continuous stream of happiness and healing throughout my stay ✨

Please, someone else go and share this happiness...????
And, of course, I can't leave this out. This is my favorite Gukbap (soup and rice) when it comes to clear pork Gukbap.
If I go to Andong again, I will definitely go on a weekday, not just the weekend, even if it's just for Silla Gukbap.
After dinner, the sun was setting, and I thought it was finally time to walk around a bit...? That's what I thought.
I went to Nakgang Mulgil Park and was properly attacked by humidity and mosquitoes.
I had high expectations after seeing photos of Nakgang Mulgil Park, but frankly, it was too difficult to walk around Mulgil Park in the summer.
Still, the photos came out pretty.

Personally, I recommend Wolyeonggyo Bridge even more because it was better than I expected!
Since it was a night that was too good to just let pass, I bought Okgeori Yukhoe (Korean-style raw beef) for a late-night snack and returned to the accommodation.
Originally, Mungtigi (raw beef) + Yukhoe is famous, but we both don't like Mungtigi very much (or rather, we haven't tried it).
So, I packed 200g of Yukhoe, and I was very satisfied.
The store is narrow and noisy, so if you want to eat comfortably, I highly recommend taking it out to eat ????????
Okgeori Yukhoe is more seasoned with sesame oil + chili powder than plain, and the seasoning is quite addictive.
Day 3 Itinerary
Breakfast & Check-out from Accommodation → Yemijeong Salted Mackerel → Sancheong Restaurant for Lunch → Cafe Seowon → Dosan Seowon → Seoul

A happy morning starts with Mammoth Bakery and Hanaro Mart peaches that I packed the day before.
It's been a long time since I had Soboro bread with milk, but it's still delicious.
It's time to leave Hoduga Hanok Stay, which I loved so much that I didn't want to leave~~
I was worried about what gifts to send to both families, and I chose salted mackerel.

I stopped by Yemijeong Andong Salted Mackerel at Okdong Intersection and sent a delivery. I recommend this place!!
I bought the one that's individually packaged in half mackerel pieces, which is convenient to eat and, more importantly, delicious.
Both we and our parents were very satisfied with the taste.
* Business hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 6 pm, Saturdays only until 12 pm. (Closed on Sundays and public holidays)
I sent the salted mackerel and came to eat salted mackerel right away.
This place, where you can enjoy a huge variety of side dishes, mackerel, and Doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) all at once, is none other than
After filling my stomach, I left the city center and headed towards Dosan Seowon~~~

But Dosan Seowon was too daunting in the scorching sun with the sun right above my head, so I took refuge in a cafe.

I braved the burning heat and toured Dosan Seowon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

I wanted to visit Nongam Residence, but it was already closing time, so I sadly visited Gosanjeong instead.
(In my opinion) It was more disappointing than I expected.
Of course, it's cool, but as someone who grew up watching the Hantangang columnar joint in Cheorwon, I think Hantangang is cooler.
I don't think I would recommend it to people around me.
The last dinner of this trip, which I stopped by on the way back to Seoul, was Bongpyeong Buckwheat Noodle Restaurant.

Both the buckwheat pancake and buckwheat noodles are delicious here, so I recommend stopping by if it's on your way up!!!!

Because it's so delicious that he eats with his face buried in it,, hahahahaha
Although I have some regrets that I didn't enjoy Andong 100% because it was too hot, that's why I think it will be remembered for a longer time as 'a vacation fighting the heat'.

A place I definitely want to visit again someday in the cool autumn weather, this is the end of my 3-day, 2-night Andong travel log ✌????
