A 1-Night 2-Day Getaway to the East Sea: Discovering Jeongdong-Simgok Sea Fan Road
A trip to the East Sea is always a good idea for a short 1-night, 2-day domestic getaway.
This time, I'd like to introduce Jeongdong-Simgok Sea Fan Road, a must-visit place in Jeongdongjin.
If you have more time and a longer vacation, you might want to travel further.
But if you only have a day or two, a trip to the nearby sea is a great option.
While the West Sea is nice, the East Sea offers a deep, clear, and blue feeling that makes you feel like you're truly on vacation.
That's why I often head to the East Sea!
Places to visit in Jeongdongjin:
Sun Cruise Hotel & Beach Resort
I chose Sun Cruise Hotel & Beach Resort for my 1-night, 2-day trip to Jeongdongjin.
Although it's a bit older, it offers good value for money and has well-maintained gardens.
It's a great place to relax for a day.
What's unique about the Jeongdongjin Sun Cruise Hotel is that it's shaped like a ship.
And the ship's bow juts out over the cliff.
It looks even more amazing when viewed from below.
It's great for a 1-night, 2-day stay.
Jeongdong-Simgok Sea Fan Road is just a 1-minute walk away.
You can spend the whole day playing at the hotel,
enjoying the hotel gardens,
and exploring the Sea Fan Road.
While the rooms may show their age a bit,
they are relatively spacious,
and seem to be well-maintained.

I actually didn't know about this place.
I went to the Sun Cruise Hotel and stumbled upon this sea promenade right in front of it.
It may look far on the map,
but the Sea Fan Road is quite long,
so the starting point is basically in front of the Sun Cruise Hotel.
The Sun Cruise Hotel is connected to the Beach Cruise Hotel.
If you come over to Beach Cruise and exit, you'll be right in front of
Jeongdong-Simgok Sea Fan Road.
There's a convenience store and a restroom right in front.

Admission Fee
The admission fee is ₩5,000 per adult.
I didn't realize how long this promenade was at the time.
I casually went out in Crocs and thought my feet were going to fall off! LOL
Maybe it's because I paid the admission fee,
but I wanted to see it through to the end.
It's a 2-hour round trip! LOL
But the view was really amazing.
The sea was truly emerald-colored.
The waves and the horizon in the distance were
simply stunning.

What to Bring
The East Sea view is amazing, and
it's a great place to walk while enjoying the sea.
But it's further than you think,
so it's best to be prepared.

Sunglasses
Hat
Water
That should be enough.
I had a hard time because I didn't wear sneakers... ㅠㅠ
And the sun was hotter than I thought! LOL
