Milrak The Market + Market Night: A Trendy Hot Spot in Busan!

Ta-da! It's Mandoli! Today's post is a follow-up to my last one, covering the rising hot spot in Busan:
None other than Milrak The Market + Market Night! I grabbed some hearty soup with a friend's sibling,
wandered around, checked into our accommodation, and headed straight to Milrak The Market before the dinner rush.
For your information, Milrak The Market and Market Night aren't separate entities. During the day, Milrak The Market operates as a kind of all-in-one shop with food shops, Starbucks, and accessories,
so you can think of it as a complex cultural space. Then, from 7 PM onwards, it transforms into Market Night, a night market vibe combined with a trendy 'pocha' (outdoor bar) atmosphere!
I'll introduce it to you step by step.
Market Night Milrak The Market

Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 7:00 PM - 2:00 AM
Friday, Saturday: 7:00 PM - 3:00 AM
Parking: Parking is available behind the shop. It costs ₩4,000 for the first hour,
and ₩1,000 is added every 15 minutes thereafter. If you purchase accessories, coffee, or food at various shops,
you can register for one hour of free parking per shop you visit!
Restrooms: Located inside the building and are very clean!
I came here with high expectations, and even though I visited on a Thursday, I had to wait in line. I was thinking, 'Are there this many people?' Of course, it's vacation season, but a hot spot is a hot spot for a reason!

This is what Milrak The Market looks like before sunset. You can sit and enjoy the atmosphere in the outdoor 'nopo' (old restaurant) style.
Personally, I highly advise against sitting outside during the summer!
Here's a pro tip! As you can see in the photos, there's a DJ booth in the middle, with tables on either side.
To the left are food spots where you can order food, and to the right are drink spots where you can order alcohol. If you're easily bothered by the heat,
dislike loud music, and prefer to avoid crowds and chaos, I strongly recommend sitting upstairs.
From my experience, the tables downstairs are sweltering! There's a food preparation area, and people are packed tightly together,
and there's barely any air conditioning. So, try to grab a spot on the stepped seating area. Another tip! When you're waiting in line to enter,
make sure to bring your ID! If you forget it, you can download the Government24 app, get verified, and issue a mobile ID card.
When I sat down, I could see the Gwangan Bridge and Gwanganli Beach. The vibe at sunset was amazing!

The food is quite pricey, but some items are of good quality.
Also, note that the staff are usually on standby, but if your seat is empty for about 20 minutes, they'll clear it immediately.
So, make sure at least one person stays behind. Also, try to stagger your restroom visits, haha! It's almost like a hip-hop club,
playing the same songs over and over, so you can think of it as a sentimental bar. Oh! When you enter, they stamp your wrist or hand,
which allows you to re-enter at any time. So, if you want to hang out for a bit and then go out for a second or third round elsewhere,
feel free! My friend and I secured our spot and then explored the total shop upstairs.

There were burgers, pizza, and cafes.
There are also fish restaurants, clothing and accessories shops that are worth checking out. It's well-equipped for eating, enjoying, and having fun!
I want to explain how to get to the restroom because it might be confusing at first. I'm someone who values restrooms a lot!
Go straight into the area where it says, and turn right. You'll find the restrooms there!
If you go up the stairs from the initial entrance and walk straight, you'll see a row of shops on the upper floor. If you follow the path, you'll reach a place that looks like the picture in the center.
The restroom is a bit far, so it was a bit inconvenient to go back and forth while drinking at Market Night.

This is what I mentioned earlier about parking!
I ordered Soju and beer, and sweet and sour pork to go with it. I would have been so disappointed if the quality wasn't good for the price, but it was crispy and delicious when eaten warm.
Of course, you know how it is at places like this? Don't expect good value for money. The portion sizes are small for the price, but the taste was decent enough to overlook it.
From above, I could see young people hitting on each other, and I got to people-watch for a long time. I was originally planning to go there first and then head to another hot bar called Fisherman's around dawn,
but women get free passes, while ten black-haired guys were waiting in line. I waited for about five minutes, got sweaty and hot, and gave up and went somewhere else.
Fisherman's has a club pub vibe, so if you like that kind of atmosphere, give it a try! Anyway, I entered before sunset and took some pictures around sunset and after sunset to show you all.

Around Sunset

This is after sunset. As expected of a Busan hot spot, there was barely any space to step, so I'm glad I came early.
You have to be good at quickly going in and out of places like this, and I'm usually quick to sense things, so I always benefit from it.
There were many handsome men and beautiful women, couples, and a few families. Since the space is small, it can be awkward to sit close to each other.
It would be really fun to sing along and do a group sing-along to the music, but the atmosphere wasn't like that, which was a little disappointing.
I like to have a blast when I'm having fun! Haha!
The week I went, Haha was supposed to be a guest performer! I was so disappointed that I didn't get to see him.
If my trip to Busan had included the weekend, I definitely would have seen him. Hehe! I'll also mention this in case anyone is planning to hit on people:
From above, you can usually see guys trying to pick up girls. But the women are all watching, pretending not to notice. 'Oh, that guy from that table went over to talk to her?'
They see everything, like when they get rejected and come back. So, if you're planning to pick someone up, be very careful. Here's a tip!
Even I, as a guy, have a bit of an eye for it. I could hear people whispering about which guy at which table was going to try to pick someone up, wondering if they'd succeed or not. It was nosy, but it reminded me of when I was younger.
I came here first, and then went to a great izakaya for the second round. Then, I was planning to go to Fisherman's for the third round, but I gave up and came back here later in the evening to hang out a bit more. Before going back to my accommodation, I ate ice cream and took a walk along Gwanganli Beach before going to bed around dawn.
I'll post about the izakaya in my next post, so please wait a little bit.
It's a really good restaurant, and I wanted to recommend it. Hehe! I'll write about it in detail in my next post. I'll end today's post here.
If you're planning a trip to Busan and want to experience the atmosphere, are curious about the hot spots,
or want to check out the accessory shops or Milrak The Market during the day, I think it's worth a visit.
The forecast didn't predict a lot of rain, but it's been drizzling all day.
Everyone has worked hard this week. I hope you have a happy and wonderful weekend. I'll be on my way now. Goodbye.
Have a good night, everyone! Bye!
