In the 315th episode of tvN's ‘You Quiz on the Block,’ aired on the 22nd, LEE JAE, the composer of ‘Golden,’ the OST for the Netflix animated film ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ (K-De-Heon), appeared.
MC Jo Se-ho asked LEE JAE,
“Many people are saying the accumulated copyright royalties for ‘Golden’ are around 45.6 billion KRW, similar to the prize money from ‘Squid Game’?”
LEE JAE responded with surprise,
“I didn’t know… Was that being said?” with a laugh.
Yoo Jae-suk jokingly said, “You should check your bank account,”
LEE JAE mentioned the timeline of actual copyright settlements, saying, "(Overseas settlements) come in late from the U.S. It takes about a year. Korea is a bit faster.”
‘Golden,’ Challenges for Grammy Nomination
LEE JAE personally wrote, composed, and sang ‘Golden’ from the ‘K-De-Heon’ OST,
and also participated in writing and arranging other tracks such as ‘How It’s Done,’ ‘Takedown,’ and ‘Your Idol.’
In particular, ‘Golden’ has been
officially submitted to the ‘Record of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year’ categories of the U.S. Grammy Awards,
receiving recognition as a rare achievement among K-pop artists.
