Actress Han Go-eun candidly shared her experiences with prejudice during her childhood immigration to the United States, as well as episodes from her early days as an actress.

In a video released on her YouTube channel 'Go-eun unnie Han Go-eun' on the 20th, Han Go-eun presented a talk with Japanese wives and shared her own curry recipe.

The video, titled "Japanese Housewives React to Han Go-eun's Curry + Hamburger Steak?! (Realities of Korean-Japanese Couples, Low-Calorie Recipe)," marked the opening of her first entertainment-style content series, 'Go-eun's Guest EP.1'.

"Immigrated to the US at 13... I was the only Asian in school"

On this day, Han Go-eun listened to the story of a Korean-Japanese woman and deeply sympathized, saying, "I have lived through such prejudices as well."

She recalled, "I immigrated to the United States with my family at the age of 13, and I couldn't speak a word of English. I was the only Asian in school," adding, "I still vividly remember everyone looking at me with curious eyes."

She continued, "Because of that experience, I understand the feelings of those who experience prejudice in other countries better than anyone else," and added, "The more prejudice is taken for granted in a society, the greater its weight becomes."

"I was scolded for going to the set in a padded jacket and slippers"

During the conversation, when one of the Japanese guests said, "It's so strange that my husband goes out wearing a padded jacket and sandals," Han Go-eun burst into laughter and agreed, saying, "I didn't know why that was strange at first either."

She shared, "When I came to Korea, I used to go to the set in a padded jacket and slippers out of habit, and I was scolded by a senior colleague," and burst into laughter.

She added, "Now I know why. I realized once again that perspectives differ from culture to culture," concluding cheerfully.

Consistent communication even after marriage

Han Go-eun married Shin Young-soo, a non-celebrity four years her junior, in 2015. Since then, she has received much love for revealing the warm daily life of a real couple through the SBS entertainment show 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny'.

Currently, she is consistently communicating with fans through various content such as cooking, daily life, and talks on her YouTube channel 'Go-eun unnie Han Go-eun'.

Fans responded with comments such as, "Hearing Han Go-eun's story makes her feel more human," "She seems like a wise and warm older sister," and "The story of her immigrant days was touching," offering their support.
