BLACKPINK's Rosé Charms Listeners on 'The Howard Stern Show' with Acoustic Rendition of 'APT'

BLACKPINK's Rosé recently appeared on the American radio program 'The Howard Stern Show'.
There, she captivated listeners with a sweet acoustic version of her mega-hit song 'APT,' which has surpassed 2 billion views.
The 'APT' music video, featuring Rosé and Bruno Mars as a duet, was surprise-released on October 18, 2024, and officially reached 2 billion views on YouTube on September 18, 2025.
Just days after becoming the first Korean artist to win 'Song of the Year' at the 2025 VMA, Rosé became the fastest artist to reach 2 billion views on YouTube with the 'APT' MV, rewriting K-pop history twice in just two weeks.
Furthermore, before her collaboration with Bruno Mars, the most beautiful member of BLACKPINK garnered a lot of attention on social media by releasing an early demo version (1.0) of 'APT'.
Rosé played the demo version of 'APT' for radio DJ Howard Stern, saying, 'I have the very first version of 'APT' on my phone. Do you want to hear it? It's before Bruno was on it.'
While the melody is familiar, the tempo is slightly slower, and the lyrics are completely different from the original song.
It roughly translates to:
I'll be waiting in room 17
Take me from my sweetest dream
We talked all week but
You can't grab me through the screen
So leave your friends at the bar
The night is young, you know what you're looking for
Just call a cab here
Don't tell anyone we're meeting at the APT
Many people praised Rosé's 30-second solo version of 'APT,' saying it was much more appealing and catchy than the original, exclaiming, 'It's so good even without Bruno Mars! How could they hide it so well?!'
Regarding the explosive popularity of 'APT,' which surpassed 2 billion views, some downplayed Rosé's contribution, attributing it to Bruno Mars' involvement.
However, with the release of version 1.0, Rosé proved that she can perfectly pull off this hit song on her own, and her charming melody and tone would have been enough to gain global popularity.
