A Stroll Through Naksan Park: A Review & Parking Tips

Hello, everyone! It's Niu here ❤️
Today, I'm excited to share my experience of taking a walk in Naksan Park, Seoul, during the refreshing autumn weather!
Perhaps because it was featured in the Korean dating show 'Transit Love' ( 환승연애 ), I spotted quite a few foreigners. Even though it was past 9 PM, there were still a good number of people enjoying the park.
Let's start with some information about Naksan Park's parking lot!
⚠️ Naksan Park Parking Lot ⚠️
I arrived around 9 PM on a Saturday night (weekend) and didn't get a parking spot until 9:30 PM ㅠㅠ. The one-lane road was a complete mess with cars trying to enter and exit simultaneously, creating a deadlock situation.
Eventually, the cars trying to enter had to back up to allow the exiting cars to leave. I think around 40 cars came out all at once!
The parking lot isn't very big, maybe around 30 spaces. The difficulty level is quite high! I'd give it five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I saw quite a few people struggling to park. I recommend beginners come on foot!
The parking fee is ₩150 per 5 minutes, which is ₩1800 per hour. Strangely, we were charged ₩2100 for 53 minutes... ?????♀️???????♀️. I'm not sure why, but it was cheap enough, so we just paid and left.
The parking spaces are very narrow, making it difficult to park larger vehicles, or really park in general. Everyone seemed to be trying 5-6 times to get in!
Remember to pay at the payment kiosk *before* heading to the exit!
If you go up the stairs from the parking lot, you'll find the central square, restrooms, and a small shop. This is the first and last restroom you'll encounter, so use it if you need to!
Also, there are many uphill sections, so I wouldn't recommend bringing young children or elderly people. I heard there's a parking lot on flat ground, so it might be better to use that one.
Naksanjeong Pavilion is just a small pavilion with not much to see. You need to go to Observation Platforms 1, 2, and 3 to see the fortress wall trail and the fortress night view we're looking for!
During this past Chuseok holiday, I took my parents-in-law on a trip to Seoul. We went to Namsan, Gwangjang Market, and other places, and there were a lot of Chinese tourists everywhere!
Today at Naksan Park, there were many Japanese tourists dressed up nicely, taking pictures everywhere. There were also couples being lovey-dovey and families walking their dogs, making it a heartwarming autumn evening!
Come to think of it, there were many people taking pictures of the night view from one particular spot. I guess that's the location that appeared in 'Transit Love'! I didn't think the night view was that impressive.
I thought the Seoul night view from Namsan was prettier. However, the fortress walls at Naksan Park were great ❤️.
Taking pretty pictures of the fortress walls is really difficult ㅋㅋ. I barely managed to get one decent shot before heading home~
My review of Naksan Park:
The entrance fee is really cheap, but I *don't* recommend the Naksan Park parking lot ❌. I recommend using the Korea National Open University parking lot (₩2000 for 30 minutes) or other parking lots on flat ground nearby!
The Naksan Park fortress wall trail is really beautiful ❤️. It's best viewed from a distance~~ The fortress wall with the lights is a work of art! It's a great place for a walk or a run in the autumn weather!
See you in my next post 👋
