I'm excited to share about a recent stay at a truly special place!

Located in Gangjin, South Jeolla Province, Epigram Stay Gangjin offers a unique experience rooted in local culture and history.

But what exactly *is* Epigram?

Starting in Jeju in 2017, Epigram has carefully chosen locations like Hadong, Cheongsong, Gochang, and Gangjin to introduce visitors to the unique stories, landscapes, and culture of these regions. It's a truly local project.

Almost Home Stay Gangjin, specifically, is a remodeled version of the Sanoijae Hanok Experience Center.

This is a site of historical significance, as it was once a thatched-roof house where Dasan Jeong Yak-yong, a prominent scholar, stayed during his exile.

Designed around the theme of 'Gangjin Promenade,' the goal isn't to be flashy but rather to allow guests to slowly appreciate the charm of Gangjin.

It's a peaceful and cozy guesthouse with a serene traditional Korean house (Hanok) and a charming courtyard.

The rooms, named after significant elements of Gangjin – Camellia (Dongbaek), Peony (Moran), Celadon (Cheongja), Maryang, Dasan, and Wolchul – each carry the essence of the region. There are six rooms in total.

I stayed in the 'Moran' (Peony) room.

I was greeted with a warm cup of welcome tea!

In the welcoming area, you can find stories related to Epigram, Gangjin, and the stay itself.

Interesting Design

Perhaps because it's a local project, there were many tourists around, and I noticed a lot of people admiring the guesthouse from the outside while I was staying there!

The living room is warm, spacious, and comfortable!

While the exterior is a traditional Hanok, the interior boasts a modern aesthetic.

The bathroom, connected to the living room, is impeccably clean.

The interior is perfect for a relaxing half-bath with bath salts.

Dreamy Moment

The table setting is neat, and the tableware has a traditional Korean feel.

Cooking is not allowed inside the room!

You can tell they put a lot of attention to detail with the decorations!

Cute Hanok-style table and cushions! Perfect for enjoying a cup of tea.

Joyful Moment

Opening the doors and enjoying the view while relaxing is pure healing.

The bedroom features a cozy mattress, plush bedding, and warm lighting.

You can truly feel at ease here!

There are pretty decorations placed throughout the space!

Even the wooden hangers felt like a work of art!

Great Photo

The shower room connected to the main bedroom is bright and beautiful in baby pink!

Since it's a private house, it's very quiet in the evening.

We packed food from around the area and ate dinner at the guesthouse.

Happy Times

I switched up the lighting!

Amenities are provided, and opening the doors and windows wide allows you to fully experience the different scenery each season has to offer!

Touching Scene

It's a place where you can feel the warmth of a traditional Hanok and modern sensibilities. I highly recommend it as a cozy and comfortable retreat!
