When we decided to take a last-minute trip to Gyeongju, I quickly realized that booking a hotel would be a challenge. It was right before a holiday, and all the rooms were either booked or ridiculously overpriced, with rooms that usually cost ₩30,000-₩40,000 going for ₩150,000! I was worried about where we would stay. Since Sua's mom was covering gas and food, I offered to take care of the accommodation.

After searching and searching, I finally found a hotel in Gyeongsan. It turned out to be only about 60km from Gyeongju, which wasn't too far. I also liked the idea of visiting a new town, and it was a convenient route for our planned trip to Haeinsa Temple. The downside was that the area seemed to be an industrial complex with many foreign workers. Apparently, the hotel was a remodeled motel, but the price was right at around ₩50,000, so I booked it!

Since it was newly opened, I was hoping for the best. Luckily, when we arrived in the evening, it was surprisingly popular. We were barely able to park the car! There was additional parking available across the street, but being in an unfamiliar neighborhood made me a bit uneasy.

I had originally booked a room with one bed and a bathtub, but the room we got had two beds!

Peaceful scenery

But to my surprise, it was clean and nice, probably because it had been remodeled. Sua and her mom were happy with it, which was a relief. It was the first accommodation of our trip, so it would have been awkward if it wasn't good!

She's already become one with the bed!

It was surprisingly clean and the interior design was even better than my house! I was envious.

The room had pretty much everything you'd expect, and there were three water bottles in the fridge for the three of us. The check-in staff were also very friendly, so I really didn't have any complaints!

And surprisingly, there was a styler! Sua's mom always uses one when she sees it, and it would be nice to have one at home. If we ever move, I might consider buying one! But for now, I'll pass. If I bought one now, I'd probably have to carry it around on my shoulders all the time!

The TV size was good too.

Dreamlike moment

Rooms with two beds didn't have a bathtub. Sua's mom would have loved that, but I can't take hot baths because I'm not feeling well. If she could, she would have stayed in there all day! I chose this place because I thought it had a bathtub, so that was a bit of a disappointment. A minor flaw, I guess? And the bathroom was very clean. I was jealous because it was the kind of bathroom interior I like.

Everything was in good condition. I guess that's because it was recently remodeled.

I booked this hotel because I saw a review saying it was cheap and clean, but it was much better than I expected. I had read some comments about noise, but I didn't experience any. We had a good night's sleep. I had only heard of Gyeongsan because a friend's wife is from there, but I didn't know anything about it. We had a good dinner, the mart was right next door so we bought snacks, and the hotel was great. Overall, it was a good start to the trip.
