During my trip to Geochang, I spent a night at Forest House No. 103 on Mount Udusan in Geochang Forest Leisure Park.

The place marked with an arrow in the photos!

As someone who's always dreamed of a duplex, I was able to fulfill my dream and enjoy the view of the treetop observatory and the panoramic mountain scenery from the window.

With only six units available, the reservation competition is fierce, so I was happy just to grab the last available room.

Thanks to the interior full of wood, fresh air, and air conditioning on both the first and second floors (but it wasn't humid even without the air conditioner on), I had a pleasant night. I was satisfied with the view, structure, cleanliness, and atmosphere of this Geochang duplex accommodation.

Forest House has dedicated parking spaces for each building, so there's no need to worry about parking. There is also a treetop observatory parking lot below the accommodation, so even if you have multiple cars, there is plenty of parking space.

Check-in is available at the management office on the first floor of the Forest Recreation Hall. I arrived at 2 PM to see the treetop observatory and check in on time, but check-in starts at 3 PM, so check-in is possible from 3 PM. It was raining a bit, so I asked if I could still go to the treetop, and they said it was possible, so I went to see the treetop first and came back at 3 PM to check in.

The Forest Recreation Hall and auto campground are also available, but reservations are required. We booked Forest House, so after checking in at the management office, we moved to the accommodation, which is a 1-minute drive away.

Check-in is at 3 PM and check-out is at 11 AM. One standard-size garbage bag is provided in the room, and additional garbage can be disposed of by purchasing a bag. There is a square space for pets at the entrance of Forest House, but pets are not allowed inside. If found, you will be forced to check out. Use of fire or portable cooking appliances is prohibited in the accommodation. Any act that causes complaints, such as drinking, loud singing, or shouting, will result in immediate eviction without a refund.

There are only 6 Forest Houses in total, with 2 units on the top row and 4 units on the bottom row. The window view is slightly different for each unit, but the top row has a better view, and the view from the rooms inside is said to be better than the room I stayed in. I booked the last remaining room, so I was just happy to have it.

The buildings are made of wood with triangular roofs, and they blend in naturally with the forest and are cute. They look like houses in a fairy tale. When viewed from the treetop observatory, you can see all six accommodations nestled in the forest at a glance. When you look closely, they are big, but when viewed from the treetop, they look like houses where seven dwarfs live one by one.

The Udusan No. 103 where I stayed was on the far right of the bottom row (adjacent to the road _ no moving vehicles other than accommodation vehicles), and people who came to see the treetop looked around the exterior of Forest House and asked about the price and how to make a reservation, and I answered them, and for some reason, I felt proud.

The scenery from the triangular window on the second floor of the duplex was really impressive. Even on a cloudy day, the mountain ridges stretched out and I could see the clouds, which was really nice.

From one of the second-floor windows, I could see the stairs of the treetop observatory, so I could see people going up and down. From the first-floor window, I could see the panoramic view of the mountains, so I could enjoy the view at my leisure, and although some trees on the left partially blocked the view, I was still satisfied. I realized that this was what other blog reviews meant by blocking the view. If it were another unit, it would have been completely open.

It was raining and there was a slight fog, so I couldn't see it clearly, but it felt like I was in a paradise? It was good enough, I enjoyed it enough, it was really quiet, and it was really relaxing.

환상적인 장면

The interior is all wood. The walls and ceiling are all wood, so it was pleasant and cozy. On the first floor, there is a bathroom, sofa, low table (long), dining table, air conditioner, wardrobe, etc., and in the kitchen, basic cooking utensils and tableware are prepared.

As soon as I saw the duplex stairs, I was excited about my duplex dream. It was a bit cumbersome to go up and down the steep stairs because the bathroom was only on the first floor. The blankets and pillows were prepared in the wardrobe on the first floor, and I received a confirmation call the day before and they asked about the number of people and set it up accordingly. The triangular window on the front of the second floor has a great view and a sense of openness, but you need to be careful when going up and down because the stairs are narrow.

There is a TV on the second floor, but not on the first floor. If you want to turn on the TV and rest, you have to go up to the second floor. It was a little hard to carry the blanket up the stairs to the second floor. So I was thinking about sleeping on the first floor.

화려한 장면

I was startled to see a large camel cricket when I came out of the bathroom at 3 AM. There was a large camel cricket in front of the bathroom door. It's inevitable to have bugs in mountain accommodation, but the size was too big, so I chose to be self-confined in the bathroom for a while. (I was trapped myself for quite some time...) My companion was also coming down the stairs to go to the bathroom, and while they were fighting the camel cricket, I ran away to the second floor. I thought it was a good thing I slept on the second floor.

There is air conditioning on both the 1st and 2nd floors, but I turned it off in the early evening and still slept well because it wasn't humid. When I woke up, I felt so refreshed?? Is this the power of wood? I was impressed again and again.

평화로운 풍경

The next morning, I headed to the walking trail behind the accommodation. The day before, I thought the walking trail would be long, so I decided to go in the morning, but when I went, it was shorter than I thought. It was much shorter than going up to the treetop observatory, so I was a little embarrassed, but there was a photo zone on the walking trail, and it seemed to be still under construction. The morning air was refreshing, so I started the day in a good mood while taking a walk.

흥미로운 이미지

I liked everything about Geochang Forest Leisure Park's Forest House, including the wooden interior, the panoramic view, the location right next to the treetop observatory, and the quiet and pleasant environment. The encounter with the camel cricket was thrilling, but it's inevitable in mountain accommodation. It was a good place to stay for a day or so while enjoying the forest and the view during my Geochang trip. To be honest, I wanted to stay for a few days. Highly recommend!
