Not quite Benjamin Button... but the posting timeline seems to be going backwards! LOL

This post is about our summer vacation in 2023 (although it was September, so more like an autumn getaway).

We stayed at a private villa in Gapyeong with an outdoor jacuzzi and a sandpit!

The villa consisted of two separate buildings, an upper unit and a lower unit.

We booked the upper unit, which had just opened recently.

Since it was two years ago, our child was (by Korean age) three years old.

Looking back, her face and actions are exactly the same, just in a mini version! LOL

And even back then, she tried to layer her favorite clothes... It's a bit much now that I see it! LOL

There was a big mart nearby, so we went to buy some groceries.

I was embarrassed, but I managed to persuade her to take off the skirt. LOL

Our energetic firstborn rushed inside as soon as we arrived!

Come to think of it, it was September, so I must have just found out I was pregnant with our second child!

There are two rooms: one is a media room (beanbags + projector),

and the other is the main bedroom with a huge bed!

Our little one looks so tiny next to it!

We were looking forward to the outdoor sandpit, but the weather was a bit rainy.

But since there was a shade and we brought a raincoat, we just decided to go for it! LOL

There was a faucet right next to the sandpit, so it was easy to get water to play with.

Sand toys were provided, so we didn't need to bring any.

Our firstborn was having a blast, rain or shine!

Actually, she loved it so much, but it was a hassle to keep changing her clothes and washing her off because the sand was wet, so

we tried to minimize sandpit time. TT

And next to the sandpit is the outdoor jacuzzi!

Our firstborn spotted it and ran straight to it, which was perfect for rinsing off the sand from playing. Not a bad course! LOL

(But then she'd want to play in the sand again after washing... hahaha...)

The jacuzzi isn't very big. It feels a bit cramped for two adults.

But it was plenty of space for the child to play,

and since the jacuzzi was right outside the main bedroom window,

it was easy to bring and put away clothes and toys,

and it was convenient for the adults to move around.

My husband always agonizes over what to cook when we go on vacation!

We always have a barbecue one day, whether it's hot, good weather, or cold,

but strangely, maybe because I was pregnant, I didn't feel like eating beef that day, even though I usually love it.

The unique smell of beef felt too strong, so I asked him to cook it more thoroughly and just ate it like that.

Second day morning!

Great Photo

I forgot about it, but I found the Chuseok songpyeon (rice cakes) that our firstborn made at daycare the day before. LOL

I wanted to eat it and make her happy, but... well... the visuals weren't great... and it had already been in her bag for a day...

Sorry, honey... I threw it away. LOL

"Ramen for breakfast!!" but the color isn't ramen-like.

I probably bought rice noodles to eat with our firstborn. Probably... It's been a while, so I don't remember well... LOL

Mysterious Scene

It's the same old dishwashing, but washing dishes while looking out at the wide picture window made the morning feel refreshing.

(My expression in the photo doesn't look very refreshed though...)

After breakfast, we went to Jaraseom Island nearby.

It was generally damp, but luckily it wasn't raining heavily, so we didn't need umbrellas.

It took us an hour just to get past the entrance because we were blowing bubbles as we walked.

Great Photo

We got a lot of free pine nuts thanks to the baby carrier. LOL It was a healing time, smelling the damp grass after the rain.

But I remember taking a lot more photos, but there aren't many left in Google Photos. Why...?

And back at the villa, the sandpit fun started again.

When will she stop asking us to play and just have fun on her own (or with her younger sibling)?

When that day comes, will I just feel relieved, or will I feel a little sad...? LOL

And for dinner on the second day, duck paella~~

My husband often makes paella. There are so many variations, and it's always delicious.

But no matter how delicious something is, our picky (very picky) firstborn only eats the same things.

Now she eats a few more things, so her diet has about three or four options,

but back then she really didn't eat much. Even in the photos, she's not eating much. TT

Amazing Sight

Firstborn eating a boiled egg for breakfast.

Anyway, I was so stressed about our firstborn's picky eating habits, and it's still ongoing,

but after having our second child, I realized that taste and eating habits are innate.

Our second child eats everything really well. If the adults or her older sister are eating something new, she comes and asks for it, and she just eats whatever you give her. It's so easy. Just being a good eater makes parenting so much easier.

Mysterious Scene

It suddenly ended with a complaint about our firstborn's eating habits...

But back then, we didn't have our second child, so watching one three-year-old was no longer difficult at all,

and it was truly a "healing" trip.

Great Photo

But we're happier now that there are four of us~~ Happy ending~~ LOL
