Escape to Nature and History: A Morning Hike on Inwangsan Mountain

Hello, fellow travelers!
Today, let's escape to Inwangsan Mountain, a place where you can experience both nature and history in the heart of Seoul. Like chatting with a friend over coffee, why not join me in discovering the charm of Inwangsan? ✨
Tteona Mat Story: Walking the Morning of Inwangsan
Last weekend, I hiked up Inwangsan as the morning air started to feel a bit chilly. Isn't it amazing to find such a healing spot so close to downtown Seoul? ???? Inwangsan is located between Seongbuk-gu and Jongno-gu, Seoul, and it has well-maintained trails, making it accessible even for beginner hikers.
The views of downtown Seoul along the way are truly spectacular. Especially the scenery near Suseongdong Valley, which makes you feel like you're in a peaceful rural village instead of Seoul! ????
And the view of Namsan Tower and the urban forest from the summit of Inwangsan is another highlight. I lost track of time taking pictures. ????
Tteona Mat Restaurant: Seochon ‘Cafe Sasa’ ☕
After hiking Inwangsan, you're bound to be hungry and your legs might be a bit stiff, right? That's why I recommend 'Cafe Sasa' located in Seochon.
Location: 12-1, Seochon-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul (10-minute walk from the Inwangsan hiking trail entrance)
Cafe Sasa is a renovated Hanok (traditional Korean house), so the tranquil atmosphere is lovely. The view of the Seochon alleyways from the window and a warm cup of yuja (citron) black tea in hand... it's pure healing! My friend and I sat there, chatting and agreeing, "We have to come back here again." ????
Tteona Mat Tips
Hiking Course: Beginners should take the 'Sajikdan Course'. It's gentle enough to reach the summit in about an hour.
Essentials: Just bring comfortable sneakers and a bottle of water! I recommend enjoying the view with a light snack at the summit. ????
Photo Spot: You can capture amazing photos of the Seoul nightscape from 'Inwangsan Rock' near the summit! ????
Tteona Mat Emotional Line
Looking down at Seoul while feeling the breeze on Inwangsan, my heart felt lighter. ????️
Tteona Mat Emotional Closing
Inwangsan is the perfect place to take a break from your busy life. Enjoying a relaxing cup of tea in the Seochon alleyways after a hike – isn't that the true taste of Seoul? ????
