A Relaxing Getaway to Unilam Banilam Valley in Jinan

Unilam Banilam Valley in Jinan is a beautiful gorge located beneath Mt. Unjang. It's well-equipped with parking and restroom facilities, and the best part is that there are no entrance fees. Perhaps because the weather was still warm, there were many vacationers enjoying the area.

The upper stream, where the pensions are concentrated, was as crowded as you'd expect in the peak of summer. This photo shows the lower stream parking area.
Unilam Banilam is famous for its suspension bridge, and many people visit it. There were also many group tourists. It seemed like everyone was eager to get into the water, likely due to the heat.
It's about a 20-minute walk up from here. All these people are heading to the suspension bridge. I followed along, of course.

The rainbow bridge is at the entrance. After climbing a slightly sloped area, you'll find the suspension bridge connecting Mt. Unjang's Myeongdobong and Myeongdeokbong peaks.
The suspension bridge is a swaying bridge. You can walk across it with a slight sway. I just walked across without thinking too much. Recently, there have been many bridges built on high mountains like this in Korea.
Many people were taking commemorative photos, especially the group tourists who came by tour bus. Because they had bus schedules, they were quickly heading down to the water.

The valley winds its way down the mountain. This is Unilam Banilam. Unlike Jirisan, where it's often restricted to go down to the valleys, there were no such restrictions here.
Korea's mountains are beautiful. I visit them every weekend, and I'm always amazed by the stunning mountains and the picturesque scenes of white clouds painted on a clear blue canvas.
Some people might be climbing to the very top. You have to actually hike, rather than just crossing the suspension bridge and going back down, to reach the summit.
Many people were freely swimming and enjoying their weekend in the valley. It's a clear stream.

Downstream, a small dam has been built, making the valley wide and shallow enough for children to play safely. There's also plenty of parking, making it a great place for families to relax. I spent about an hour playing in the water myself.
Adults were mostly upstream near the suspension bridge. The parking lot is conveniently located near the bridge, making it easy for tour buses to park.
There's ample parking available both upstream and downstream. I think it's a great vacation spot for anyone, whether they're hiking Mt. Unjang or just visiting the valley.
The small dam in the lower stream creates a shallow area that's perfect for playing. I enjoyed wading in the water. I had a great time at Unilam Banilam Valley in Jinan. It was a refreshing break.
