Pilgrimage to the 33 Gwaneum (Avalokitesvara) Holy Sites in Korea

Hello, everyone! ^_^
Welcome to Sangjun's Travelogue!
Today, I'm going to talk about the pilgrimage to the 33 Gwaneum Holy Sites!
When asked, 'What are the 33 Gwaneum Holy Sites?'
Korean temples can be largely divided into three categories:
1) Hwaeom Temples, which embody the Hwaeom (Avatamsaka) philosophy.
2) Pure Land Temples, which depict the realms of Amitabha Buddha and Maitreya Buddha.
3) Gwaneum Centers, which pray for the great compassion of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.
Gwaneum Holy Sites are based on the third, the Avalokitesvara faith.
It is no exaggeration to say that temples with the basic halls and structures that exemplify the Avalokitesvara tradition represent Korean Buddhism!
I'm going to share the stories of these thirty-three Gwaneum Holy Sites. ^_^
