During my visit last spring, the highlights were the Naksan Park Exhibition Hall, Naksanjeong Pavilion, and the Naksan Park Fortress Trail. This park is not just about great views; it tells the story of the time when the city of Seoul was formed, adding deeper meaning to your visit.

Naksan Park is conveniently located within walking distance from Hyehwa Station on Line 4 of the subway. After exiting through Exit 2, you can stroll past Marronnier Park, a symbol of Daehangno, while exploring the area.
After a hearty lunch at a local restaurant, heading to Naksan Park is a great way to digest your meal. The route from Exit 2 of Hyehwa Station involves a gentle climb up a hill, so wearing comfortable shoes is advisable.
On this day, my husband and I had lunch and watched a play in Daehangno, so I wore nicer shoes, which made the uphill walk a bit challenging. However, the well-marked signs made it easy to navigate, and we enjoyed exploring the charming alleys of Daehangno.
As we walked, the unique atmosphere of the area and the quaint neighborhood views enhanced our experience. The ground also features indicators pointing to Naksan Park, making it easy to follow. The walk took about 10 to 20 minutes.

Located at the entrance of the Naksan Park Fortress Trail, the Naksan Park Exhibition Hall is a must-visit to understand the history of Naksan. The Joseon Dynasty moved its capital to Hanyang and built Gyeongbokgung Palace, surrounding it with mountains for defense.
Naksan, situated to the east of the palace, played a crucial role in determining the location of Hanyang, serving as a defensive point with fortifications along its ridge. It was a favored area for government officials, who enjoyed the beautiful scenery and gardens.
The beautiful landscapes of Naksan have been documented in various texts, showcasing the love expressed through poetry and paintings by our ancestors. It was enlightening to learn about this history.

After passing through the exhibition hall, we reached Naksanjeong Pavilion, a prominent viewpoint in Naksan Park. From the pavilion, we enjoyed a panoramic view of Hyehwa-dong, Daehangno, and the surrounding areas, including Bukaksan in the distance.
The scenery of houses and alleys offers a glimpse of another side of Seoul. On this day, it rained, allowing us to relax and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere at the pavilion.

The trail is relatively gentle, making it accessible for people of all ages, with several viewpoints along the way. Unlike fast-paced tourist spots, the Naksan Park Fortress Trail offers a leisurely stroll through Seoul's past and present, making it an ideal date spot in Daehangno.
