Hello!
This summer has been exceptionally hot.
It seems that global warming is progressing faster than expected.????
On August 5th, at the Munsan Happiness Center auditorium,
there was a performance hotter than the summer sun.
It was the 'Yeonhui Ilche' event hosted by the Paju Cultural Foundation.
Unfortunately, photography was prohibited except for the curtain call,
so I sketched the performance in writing and illustrated it with AI.
I even added a subtitle, 'Lines and Thrills.'
Yeonhui Ilche encapsulates the raw energy of traditional Korean performance art and percussion.
It evolves the spirit of Pungnyu, rich in ancestral elegance and leisure,
into a comprehensive performance that conveys deep joy and excitement.
???? The performance featured a variety of traditional instruments like the gunggwari, jing, janggu, and buk,
along with the lion dance to chase away misfortune, tightrope walking, and spinning plates.
The 60-minute spectacle was captivating enough to hold the audience's attention,
creating a moment where performers and spectators breathed as one.????
The sound of the gunggwari, though small, infused explosive energy into the performance.
Following the lead performer shaking a large white flower, the play began.????
As the performance progressed, the audience clapped along to the rhythm,
creating a lively atmosphere.
The dancers' spinning hats drew white lines in the air,
blessing the audience's health and breaking down the boundaries between stage and seats.
The excitement escalated as the performers danced joyfully,
and the audience responded with enthusiastic applause.
At the end of the performance, the vibrant energy of the lines created a thrilling experience,
allowing everyone to forget the heat and enjoy the moment.
The 'Yeonhui Ilche' performance was a special occasion that allowed us to fully experience the beauty and excitement of traditional performance art!✨
