The Seoul International Extreme-Short Image & Film Festival (SESIFF), led by Chairman Ko Jae-hyun, is collaborating with the Gyeonggi Provincial Museum (Director Lee Dong-gook) of the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation to present KORINCO 2025, a children's international cultural exchange project.

‘KORINCO,’ derived from the first letters of Korea, Indonesia, and Colombia, is an international cinema exchange program where children from these three countries create stop-motion and live-action videos based on museum exhibits in their respective nations.

This year's theme is ‘Museum.’ The Korean project focuses on the ‘Seongpa Seonye Special Exhibition’ at the Gyeonggi Provincial Museum, while Indonesia features traditional ‘masks,’ and Colombia showcases folk ‘instruments.’ Korean participating children visited Seounam Hermitage of Tongdosa Temple to meet Venerable Seongpa, learning about his artistic world and creative philosophy.

Venerable Seongpa, the 15th Supreme Patriarch of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, is an artist and practitioner who has been active in various art fields such as calligraphy, painting, ceramics, sculpture, and dyeing for over 40 years. He participates in domestic and international exhibitions with his unique works that combine traditional materials and modern expressions. Recently, he presented his unique artistic world through the ‘Seongpa Seonye’ special exhibition, featuring lacquer, gold-painted sutras, and large-scale sculptures.

Participating children went through planning, storyboard creation, stop-motion shooting, and live-action shooting processes through four workshops. Sixth graders Lee Seo-yul, Jeong Hee-yeon, Park Ji-hoo, and Jeong Se-bin are the main participants, with high school assistant teachers Son Ye-ryeong, Kang Ha-neul, and Kang Ha-yul. Domestic and international film festival experts and animation producers also participated in the production process.

The completed works will be screened sequentially at the opening ceremony of the Minikino Film Week Bali International Short Film Festival in Indonesia on September 12th, the opening ceremony of the Seoul International Extreme-Short Image & Film Festival on October 24th, and the opening ceremony of the Bogoshorts Bogota Short Film Festival in Colombia on December 2nd. They will also be unveiled in the Gyeonggi Provincial Museum's exhibition program.

Meanwhile, the 17th Seoul International Extreme-Short Image & Film Festival will be held at Yongsan CGV for six days from October 24th to 29th. This film festival is supported by the Korean Film Council and the Seoul Metropolitan Government and will be enriched by the generous sponsorships of various companies such as CGV, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, Dore Dore, and Haagen-Dazs.
