Notice for the 9th Nationwide Simultaneous Local Election - Absentee Voting Registration

Exercise your precious right to vote!
The 9th Nationwide Simultaneous Local Election will be held on June 3, 2026 (Wednesday).
Absentee voting registration period: May 12 (Tuesday) to May 16 (Saturday), 2026 (5 days)
< What is absentee voting? >
A system that allows voters who have difficulty visiting polling places due to physical disabilities to vote from their current residence.
Registration period: May 12 (Tuesday) to May 16 (Saturday), 2026 (5 days)
Eligibility for absentee voting registration:
1. Soldiers or police officers who live long-term in areas far from polling places.
2. Individuals residing in hospitals, nursing homes, or correctional facilities.
* Excludes medical staff working in these facilities.
3. Individuals with severe physical disabilities who cannot move.
4. Individuals living on remote islands as defined by the National Election Commission regulations.
5. Individuals staying long-term in areas announced by the National Election Commission.
6. Individuals undergoing treatment or quarantine at institutions or facilities as per the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.
How to register:
Registration can be done in writing (by mail) or online.
Online registration: Register through the district or city hall website (Government 24).
Note: Attach a scanned copy of the registration form with the verifier's seal (PDF, JPEG, etc.).
Written registration: Fill out the absentee voting registration form available at local district or city halls and submit it to the Gimpo City Administration Department or your local administrative welfare center by mail or in person by 6 PM on May 16, 2026.
