Exploring the Naju Yeongsan River Festival: Flowers, Gardens, and More!

Hello!
I'm Yunseul, and I love to travel and share my experiences from the places I've visited.
Today, I went to the Naju Yeongsan River Festival, held in the Yeongsan River Riverside Park in Naju.
It was the last day of the festival, so there was a huge crowd.
There must be a reason why so many people flock to the Yeongsan River Festival:
- Free admission!
- Extensive yellow cosmos fields!
- Lots to see and experience!
- Garden festival!
- Amazing lineup of guest singers!
There are probably many other reasons too.
Several temporary parking lots were set up, and the parking attendants directed us to the last one, further inside.
The entrance was packed with cars. I arrived after 3 PM, thinking, "They must have left by now," but cars were still pouring in.
Since it's the closing ceremony today, there seem to be more visitors in the afternoon.
I heard that 'Park Ji-hyun' and 'Lyn,' who are very popular these days, would be performing at the closing ceremony, followed by a fireworks show.
As soon as we arrived, we took the '깡통' train to tour the entire festival grounds.
I was surprised by the long line and the expensive price (6,000 won per person for a round trip).
Still, with the anticipation of easily touring the venue, we waited in line for over 30 minutes.
Ugh... I was so disappointed. I don't think I'll ever ride it again.
It only went through the inner section without many flowers. I felt like I wasted my money.
At the festival, I saw someone familiar – actor Jung Bo-seok! He's very handsome. He even took a picture with us. It was so nice to meet him. He's an ambassador for Naju.
There were photo zones throughout the festival grounds.
The number of visitors was increasing, but the festival grounds were so large that it didn't feel too crowded.
There was even a place where kids could make paper boats and float them.
Next to the Naju Yeongsan River Festival venue, there's a long, wide hill with a yellow cosmos promenade.
The people taking pictures looked so happy.
I think this is the largest yellow cosmos colony I've ever seen.
Everywhere you take a picture, it becomes a yellow watercolor landscape.
The promenade along the Yeongsan River was well-maintained and great for a walk.
Next, we visited the space where you can see the skills of garden artists.
You can see mini-garden works by artists who have won awards at the Garden Festival, such as the Grand Prize and the Excellence Award.
The themes were diverse, which made it even more interesting to look around.
Gardens using wood, gardens using red bricks, and gardens using stone walls were all beautiful and made for great photos.
There was also a photo zone with roses as the main theme.
Don't forget to check out the invited artist's garden.
There was also a tree and flower market. The prices were so good that I wanted to buy something. They seemed cheaper than the market prices.
As I walked along the waterfront path, I came to the central stage.
Tourists were already starting to take their seats near the central stage for the pre-show events. The people wearing white clothes must be members of Park Ji-hyun's fan club. There were 14 tour buses! She's incredibly popular.
The scenery of the bridge and deck path crossing the Yeongsan River is beautiful. There's also a parking lot on the other side.
I was surprised to find so many lotus flowers in the Yeongsan River. I should come here next year to see the lotus blossoms.
The 'Hand of Life' sculpture in the Naju Yeongsan River is made by carving wood.
I was disappointed that I didn't have time to see the closing ceremony of the Yeongsan River Festival, but it was a meaningful trip because I got to see the large yellow cosmos colony, the lotus flower field, and the outdoor garden works. Although the festival is over, the yellow cosmos should still be in bloom, and there are also common cosmos colonies and reeds nearby, which are great places to take pictures and take a walk. I recommend visiting them.
