A time to wrap up the day,
turning into new joys in Seoul's evenings!
Introducing the 'Night Economy' that adds new vitality to Seoul's nights.
How will Seoul's nights change with the activation of the night economy?
What is Seoul's Night Economy?
It aims to create a safe and convenient environment for citizens and tourists
to enjoy cultural, tourism, commerce, and transportation activities
in the evenings, transforming them into new spaces for economic and cultural activities.
The goal is to encourage citizens and tourists to stay longer at night,
promoting consumption and cultural activities for a vibrant 24-hour city.
We are preparing a 'Night Economy Integrated Brand' that connects various night attractions and content across Seoul.
The brand name will be selected through a public contest.
Let's take a closer look at how the Seoul Night Economy will unfold!
How is the Seoul Moonlight Night Market being established?
The Seoul Moonlight Night Market is an initiative to promote outdoor dining culture
while revitalizing local businesses.
It aims to enhance the outdoor dining culture that has spread in areas like Jongno 3-ga and Euljiro,
making it safer and more enjoyable.
While maintaining the advantages of existing night markets,
we will address issues like noise, waste, and pedestrian inconvenience,
creating a safe, hygienic, and orderly Seoul Moonlight Night Market.
This year, five locations will be piloted for the Seoul Moonlight Night Market.
With the night openings of cultural facilities and expanded late-night transportation,
Seoul's nights will become even more enjoyable!
The city will enhance cultural and tourism infrastructure
to ensure citizens can safely enjoy night activities after work.
Key cultural facilities like museums and palaces will be reviewed for night openings.
Unique content exclusive to Seoul,
such as the Han River Park 'Night Sauna' and DDP 'Winter Sleeping Contest', will be explored.
Currently, eight art museums and galleries in Seoul are open on Friday nights,
and we will consider expanding night openings for more cultural facilities,
and programs linked to cultural facilities around Gwanghwamun.
What will the activation of Seoul's night economy look like in the future?
Various support measures are being reviewed
to ensure the safe activation of Seoul's night economy.
Strengthening late-night public transportation,
including late-night buses and autonomous buses.
Expanding safety nets for citizens at night,
including Seoul Guardians and citizen patrols.
The city aims to provide more opportunities to enjoy Seoul's night attractions
and surrounding neighborhoods,
to add vitality to the city after work hours.
The night economy, rich in night views, food, and culture,
will continue to grow with more stories to share.
