Creating Memories Through Reading and Video Production

Read, Record, and Preserve Through Video
Senior Reading and Video Production Class
Hello!
I am currently participating in a senior reading video production class at the Munsan Library.
We have already completed the second week of the three-week course.
Today, I would like to share what I learned in class and my reflections on the experience!
Initially, I thought it was just a simple class about reading books and making videos, but the actual lessons were much deeper and more interesting than I expected.
In the first class, we took time to think about perspectives on news and media before diving into video production.
In this age where countless pieces of information flood us through various media, I was reminded of the importance of distinguishing between fact and misinformation and the need for a critical attitude towards information.
It was not just about learning the skills to create videos but also about developing the power to understand media.
Through post-reading activities, we recorded our thoughts on worksheets, created storyboards based on those activities, and even generated images.
Writing the storyboard allowed me to reorganize the book's content, and in the process of deciding which scenes to emphasize, I found that the reading material became clearer in my mind.
Creating videos based on books is a multidimensional activity that goes beyond simply writing book reports.
Before we began serious video production, we also learned the basics of artificial intelligence (AI) and how to search for and generate images.
Using AI, which I had only vaguely understood before, made me realize how close new technology really is.
Although I am still not familiar with it and progress is slow, I enjoyed the process of creating images with AI and trying something new.
The book trailer production class has provided fresh stimulation and a pleasant experience.
In the remaining time, we will create videos using the images we generated and hold a review session to appreciate our completed works together.
What impressed me most was the active participation and eagerness to learn from my fellow classmates.
Seeing everyone asking questions and helping each other with assignments made me reflect on the meaning of lifelong learning!
The library, once seen only as a space for reading, is now a complex cultural space where reading meets digital technology, cultural arts, and lifelong learning.
If various programs reflecting citizens' interests and the changes of the times continue to be operated, more people will be able to utilize the library as a place of learning in their lives.
