Chilgok's Pet Food Academy: A Culinary Journey for Your Furry Friends

Hello, this is Culture City Chilgok!
The third journey of the Pet Academy!
This time, the <Pet Academy - Pet Food> program was held every Monday evening from 7-9 PM, from October 14th to October 28th, for a total of 3 sessions at the Duru Nanum Education Center.
It was a time to create familiar dishes such as Suyuk Kimchi, Jajangmyeon, and Tteokbokki tailored for pets.
Shall we take a look at the enjoyable and heartwarming scenes from each session?
Session 1: Pet Food Suyuk Kimchi
October 14th (Tuesday), 7 PM - 9 PM / Duru Nanum Education Center
The first session started with making 'Suyuk Kimchi'.
Were you curious if pets could eat Kimchi?
In this week's class, we made Suyuk Kimchi for pets with safe ingredients such as cabbage, chicken breast, and tomatoes, excluding all salt and irritating ingredients.
Before starting the practical training, we had time to receive a survey about the reasons for applying for the pet food program, what you want to learn through this education, and what you were curious about pet food.
After the survey, we looked at the Suyuk Kimchi recipe one by one.
The instructor explained the level at which pets can eat each ingredient, how to choose ingredients considering health, the role of ingredients, and alternative ingredients.
Moving the cooking table, the teacher told us about the preparation of the ingredients and checked them.
In the satisfaction survey after the pet food program, students left reviews that the ingredients were fresh.
The students prepared chicken breast and blanched tomatoes and various vegetables according to the teacher's instructions.
Many people were preparing chicken breast for the first time.
After mixing the boiled vegetables and vegetables in tomato sauce, we completed Suyuk Kimchi just like making actual Kimchi.
Changing the red sauce to tomatoes that pets can eat made it look like real Kimchi.
One student said that she usually buys Kimchi from the supermarket, but it feels strange to make Kimchi for her dog and that it is fun to have a new experience.
We had time to reinterpret familiar menus for pets.
It's made with the same ingredients, but it feels a little different. It looks delicious!!
Session 2: Making Pet Food Jajangmyeon
October 21st (Tuesday), 7 PM - 9 PM / Duru Nanum Education Center
In the second session, we challenged ourselves to make Jajangmyeon.
Jajangmyeon is familiar to us, but it is a slightly unfamiliar food for pets.
So, in this class, we used oatmeal flour and rice flour instead of wheat flour, and used potatoes, carrots, and mushrooms, excluding onions.
It's Jajangmyeon exclusively for pets.
It was the second time, so I got used to preparing chicken breast.
The students were so fast that they worked quickly like a competition.
While cooking, they washed the dishes right away, and those who used the same cooking table seemed to work well together.
Some people have many new experiences while taking pet food education~
Have you ever experienced kneading and making noodles? ^^
Pet food seems to require a lot of effort. That much will improve our dog's health, right?
Using eggs, oatmeal flour, and rice flour, knead by hand, roll out with a rolling pin, cut into noodle shapes, boil the noodles, and learn the entire cooking process while stir-frying low-sodium Jajang sauce.
The completed dish preserved the color and aroma of Jajangmyeon, but was cooked to suit the taste of pets without irritating spices.
Tada! This is the completed Jajangmyeon.
Each group has slightly different dough colors, and the sauce's concentration and color are different.
Can you feel the sincerity in the food made by kneading the dough and preparing the vegetables by hand?
After the class, we listened to the instructor's start-up story together.
Handmade pet food requires a lot of work and it is difficult to make a large amount at once.
I was able to deeply feel that it was food with sincerity for the health of pets through the instructor's actual experience.
At first, I started for the health of my beloved dog,
I heard that I have been continuously researching the nutritional balance and eating habits of pets, and now I am giving lectures focusing on health food.
It was an opportunity to think about the sincerity of starting a pet food business.
Session 3: Making Pet Food Tteokbokki
October 28th (Tuesday), 7 PM - 9 PM / Duru Nanum Education Center
The last time is making Tteokbokki, the soul food of Koreans!
This time, we made healthy pet food Tteokbokki that used rice flour and chicken breast without using any chili powder, sugar, or seasonings, and used tomatoes, paprika, and sweet potatoes to bring out the color and taste.
Every hour, we took time to look at the recipe.
We exclude all irritating seasonings such as salt, soy sauce, and chili powder, and tell you how to bring out the natural sweetness and color.
We also shared storage tips that can be used directly in real life, such as nutrients being destroyed if boiled for too long or how to manage them after cooking.
We introduced the dryer products because we received inquiries about dried snacks ^^
There was also a person who took a picture because the mixer used to grind the chicken breast this time was well ground.
It's amazing that you can make rice cakes with chicken breast and rice flour, right?
It is a healthy rice cake full of protein that pets can eat without burden.
After kneading it by hand, it was steamed in a steamer. The rice cake made in this way has been completed as a snack that is good for both the teeth and digestion of pets.
Finish by pouring and boiling in tomato sauce like real Tteokbokki!
The refreshing scent of tomatoes and the savory flavor of chicken breast combine to create a beautiful color.
The students kneaded and rolled the rice cakes themselves and adjusted them to the size of their pets to complete the cute 'mini Tteokbokki'.
The shape and color were so pretty that I couldn't help but say, 'It looks like human food!' It looks even more delicious with cheese on top.
In this <Pet Academy - Pet Food> program, we made a different menu every time.
Every moment of preparing the ingredients and kneading the dough, the students' fingertips felt love and sincerity.
The <Pet Academy - Aromatherapy, Wool Felt, Pet Food> program, which has been running since August, will be completed with the performance presentation next week.
In the future, the Chilgok Culture City Pet Academy will create a culture where people and pets become closer through warm daily life with pets and new learning opportunities.
Please look forward to the next program with much anticipation and interest.
