Chilgok's Memory Lane: A Stroll Down Gangjin Alley

Hello, this is Culture City Chilgok!
We're excited to share a review of the 2nd event hosted last month by the Buksam-eup Cultural City Project Promotion Team.
It's all about 'A Stroll Down Gangjin Alley: Play, Walk, and Enjoy!'
Memories and laughter rediscovered in the alleyways!
On October 26th (Sunday) at 2 PM, the 'A Stroll Down Gangjin Alley: Play, Walk, and Enjoy' program, organized by the Buksam-eup Cultural City Project Promotion Team in the Gangjin Village area of Buksam-eup, successfully concluded amidst the participation and laughter of many residents.
This event, themed 'An old alley just a 10-minute walk from the apartment forest,' was designed to revive the charm of old alleys and intergenerational exchange through participatory tour & play programs.
The program was planned with the aim of sharing memories of 'safe alleys, friendly neighbors' with today's children. First, we gathered in front of the Sungo 3-ri Senior Center and briefly introduced the Buksam-eup Cultural City Project Promotion Team and the purpose of the event!
We conducted a first-come, first-served registration, and many more people applied than initially planned, so we expanded the number of participants. Still, many people wanted to participate on-site.
Using the nature and alleyways of Gangjin Village, we created an intergenerational course to walk, play, and enjoy. Participants had a great time completing missions throughout the alley.
Main Course: Gangjin Village area
Sungo 3-ri Senior Center → Pine Forest Experience Center → Geo Gyeongjae → Solsaem → Sugeuije → Dangsu Tree (Rice Cake Willow) → Trail
During the program, adults relived memories through old games (Ttakji game, rubber band game, Jegichagi, etc.), while children had new experiences and learning opportunities.
Mission-type play programs (treasure hunt, etc.) held throughout the alleys involved Gangjin Village residents as helpers, adding a sense of realism and warm community spirit.
"It feels like the alley I used to play in as a child has come back to life."
"Walking with my child brings back old memories."
The laughter and impressions of the participants spread throughout the alleys.
'A Stroll Down Gangjin Alley: Play, Walk, and Enjoy' was not just a simple tour program, but a cultural venue where generations could come together and share memories.
Local residents, children, and parents walked and laughed together, creating a new story for 'Gangjin Village' and rediscovering the precious daily life and warmth of our neighborhood in the process.
Through this event, the Buksam-eup Cultural City Project Promotion Team culturally reinterpreted the village's nature, history, and people's stories, demonstrating the potential of community-based cultural programs that everyone can enjoy.
In the future, the Buksam-eup Cultural City Project Promotion Team will continue to share "The Story of Buksam: Walking, Seeing, and Feeling" through various cultural projects centered on residents.
We ask for your interest and support!
Thank you.^^
We are sharing a video of the event made by the promotion team.
