Hi everyone, it's Dalmong! ^^

Last weekend, I finally got to see the musical 'Codename X' at the Yong Theater in the National Museum of Korea.

This show is based on my child's favorite book, so I've been keeping an eye on performance updates for months. It just so happened that this was the last week, so they were offering a whopping 55% discount!

Thanks to that, we were able to enjoy a cultural outing without breaking the bank.

These days, there are many performances, but ticket prices can be a bit steep, especially for families.

And with children's musicals, it's often hard to find one that's actually good! There are a lot of poorly made shows, and just because a child likes the character doesn't guarantee satisfaction.

That's why I aimed for the "final performance sale" this time.

In the musical industry, it's common to fill seats with discounts during the last week or right before the opening.

Looking at the ticket booking window for <Codename X>, the usual 50,000 KRW tickets were down to the late 20,000 KRW range!

At that moment, I immediately clicked the purchase button. Haha!

You can trust the performances at the Yong Theater in the National Museum of Korea!

When I saw that the <Codename X> performance was at the Yong Theater in the National Museum of Korea, I knew it would be good.

The National Museum of Korea's performance hall has great facilities and the sound quality is excellent.

Instead of a flimsy set like you might expect for a children's musical, the lighting and stage design were quite high quality.

There was a large <Codename X> poster at the entrance to the theater, and my child's face lit up as they asked, "Are the real characters from the book going to be there?"

That reaction alone made it worth it.

The theater interior was clean and comfortable, perfect for families. The seats are spacious, and they even provide cushions for children, so there were no visibility issues.

Twice the Fun Because It's Based on a Book!

My child really loves the <Codename X> series.

They reach for the book first thing in the morning and prefer it over TV before bed.

I thought they would be even more engaged if they saw the performance, and I was right! They couldn't take their eyes off the stage once the musical started.

The scenes from the book came to life on stage, and the characters' lines were exactly the same.

My child excitedly whispered, "Mom, I just read this yesterday!" It was so cute.

After the show, we opened the book again at home.

My child read even more intently, pointing out which scenes were in the show.

In the end, the performance doubled the enjoyment of the book!

Pro Tip! Use Performance & Exhibition Discount Coupons!

I booked this ticket through Time Ticket.

I often use Interpark and Yes24, but I like to check Time Ticket because they sometimes offer government-sponsored performance and exhibition discount coupons.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is currently running a performance and exhibition discount coupon program.

It's a 10,000 KRW discount coupon for booking performances or exhibitions, but the available sites vary.

I compared several options:

Interpark: Only their own coupons were applicable (no performance/exhibition coupon)

Yes24: Only available for some performances

Time Ticket: Applicable for Codename X

I ended up booking through Time Ticket. I was really happy because I got a 60% base discount + an additional 10,000 KRW off with the performance/exhibition coupon! Haha!

In the past, I didn't go to musicals often because I thought they were too expensive.

But these days, if you take advantage of government coupons or last-performance discounts, you can enjoy cultural activities once a month without feeling the pinch.

Plus, my child experienced such great emotion and delight, and I've noticed it positively impacting their reading habits.

They're now asking, "Mom, what show are we going to see next?" and actively looking for performances themselves. It's not just a weekend outing, but also an educational experience.

After the show, we took a short stroll through the garden in front of the National Museum of Korea.

The weather was cool, perfect for walking hand-in-hand with my child.

Still filled with the afterglow of the performance, we took a few pictures on the lawn, and it felt like the day was complete.

There's also a cafe inside the museum, so you can relax and have a coffee. The kids could talk about the show, and the adults could enjoy the aroma of the coffee. It was one of those days where you think, 'This was a really good idea!'

This Codename X musical was a great experience that connected the book and the performance.

The stable facilities of the Yong Theater in the National Museum of Korea, the passionate acting of the performers, and the cost-effectiveness thanks to the Time Ticket performance/exhibition discount coupon made for a perfect day.

It became an unforgettable autumn memory for both my child and me! ^^
