A Visit to Gyeyang Araon: Chrysanthemum & Light Festival

Gyeyang Araon
Chrysanthemum Festival, Light Festival, Zinnia Garden, Stamp Tour
With the cool autumn breeze blowing, a new October festival awaits!
I visited the Gyeyang Araon Chrysanthemum Festival, which is emerging as a must-visit place in Incheon.
I visited at night and mainly enjoyed the light festival, but I'll also introduce the Zinnia garden and stamp tour, which are prettier during the day!
Getting to the Gyeyang Araon Festival and Parking
I went with my mascot, Rookie.
The Gyeyang Araon Chrysanthemum Festival is held at the Ara Canal in Incheon.
There's a separate Araon parking lot, but I thought it would be full, so
I parked my car in the Gyeyang Station parking lot. (Not recommended)
It cost 400 won per 10 minutes, so it came out to over 5,000 won after 2 hours!
I heard they built a new Araon parking lot, so use that one~
The way to get to the entrance of the Araon Chrysanthemum Festival from Gyeyang Station is
Take the elevator at the Ara Canal, cross the bridge, and go down.
It takes about 20 minutes on foot.
As soon as you enter Zone 1, you'll be greeted by the Media Cube.
The video inside the large cube twinkles to the music,
and both children and adults stop to watch.

Next to it is the Fantasy Tree.
All the leaves are LED lights, so the color keeps changing.
It's a different kind of beauty than lights that decorate a tree like a Christmas tree.

Gyeyang Araon Light Festival
Cross the bridge and enter the world of the festival!
After passing Zone 1 and crossing the bridge,
you're finally in the Gyeyang Araon Chrysanthemum Festival area.
As soon as you enter the festival grounds, a bear lighting photo zone
is the first thing you see.
It's much more sparkly than it looks in the pictures hehehe.
Everyone from kids to adults takes a picture in front of it~

Right across from it, there's a laser show at the Golden Mandarin Fish statue!
I was lukewarm when I saw the Golden Mandarin Fish statue during the day~ but
it was really pretty to see it with the light festival.

At night, there are more people and the atmosphere is completely different.
If chrysanthemums and zinnias were the main characters during the day,
at night, the lights become the main characters.

There were quite a few people even at night because it was the holiday season.

Gyeyang Araon Street of Lights Stamp Tour Tips!
As befits an October festival, they were holding an event
where you can get a food truck discount coupon with the 'Stamp Tour'.
If you download the app and get stamps at 5 locations,
you can get a 5,000 won discount coupon for the food truck!
I.... didn't see this and already bought it with my own money.

There are about 4 or 5 food trucks
and a convenience store next to it, so you can get snacks!
The convenience store also sells Hangang ramen,
so it's a good place to enjoy the vibe after a long time~

Gyeyang Araon Chrysanthemum Festival Viewing
The Chrysanthemum Festival officially starts from Flower Street,
so there were various chrysanthemums.

But Suhyangru was decorated so well that
I was busy looking around Suhyangru rather than the chrysanthemum works.

Rainbow-colored beads and a heart tree photo zone
Isn't it mysterious and pretty?
I had fun looking around because there were quite a few unique photo zones.

Suhyangru and the full moon are there.
If you take a picture in front of the moon-shaped light,
anyone can take a picture that will be a hit.

Rookie, who is very nervous..
Walk to the flower garden and you're done! ..or not?
There's still half of the sights left.

Zinnia Flower Field
It's a field of ten million zinnias. Now is the perfect time to be in full bloom,
so the zinnia flowers are spread out like waves.
There are many double zinnias as big as Rookie's face, so it's pretty.

Night View of Ara Canal Across the River
For the final touch of the Ara Canal Festival, be sure to look across the river.
If you look at Zone 1 on the opposite side from Gyeyang Araon,
you can see the bridge and the Araon night view at a glance.

The rainbow tree and Gyeyang-gu doing archery
The real thing is much more beautiful than it can be captured in a photo.

If you're looking for a place to visit in Incheon this October,
I highly recommend the Gyeyang Araon Chrysanthemum Festival.
Full of flower scent, lights, and autumn sensibility~!
A perfect place to visit for a weekend outing
with family, lovers, and dogs.
