A special space to enjoy books and creative experiences

Gwangtan Library

There are many libraries in Paju, all equipped with excellent facilities!

Each library offers unique spaces and amenities, allowing visitors to experience different charms.

With the pleasant weather lately, it's a great season for reading.

Today, I will introduce Gwangtan Library, where you can enjoy various reading spaces and creative activities!

Gwangtan Library is conveniently located next to the road, making it easy to find.

Upon entering the library, the first thing you notice is the information board.

Since each floor has different operating hours, it's a good idea to check in advance before your visit!

Operating Hours:

(Closed every Monday)

[1st Floor Children's Room, 3rd Floor Creative Room]

- Weekdays and weekends: 09:00 - 18:00

(Closing time: 17:50 - 18:00)

[2nd Floor General Reading Room]

- Weekdays: 09:00 - 20:00

(Closing time: 19:50 - 20:00)

- Weekends: 09:00 - 18:00

(Closing time: 17:50 - 18:00)

The 1st floor features a children's reading room, the 2nd floor has a general reading room, and the 3rd floor is dedicated to creative activities.

Let's take a look at each floor of Gwangtan Library!

On the 1st floor, I noticed a clean and pleasant space.

The first thing that caught my eye was the community sharing bookshelf.

Comfortable seating and reading spaces were available for a relaxing reading experience.

The sunlight streaming in made me want to sit down and read a book.

To the left of the stairs is the world of comics, and to the right is a space for picture books.

Children can enjoy their favorite comics and picture books, making it a space to become more familiar with reading.

Moving to the right side of the 1st floor, I found the new arrivals section.

It was fun to browse through the new books that had just arrived.

Inside, there are plenty of children's books and a space to read picture books!

There's also a nursing room available for families visiting with young children.

This is a welcome facility for families with small children.

The picture book area is decorated in vibrant colors, which I think children will love!

Moving up to the 2nd floor, I found it filled with new books!

Browsing through various genres to find a book to read is an enjoyable experience.

During my visit, the 'Immersion Room' was extended until October in celebration of September's Reading Month!

Before checking out the 'Immersion Room', I explored the general reading room on the 2nd floor.

The bright and pleasant space with sunlight coming through the large windows was impressive.

I noticed people reading and studying throughout the room.

The quiet and comfortable atmosphere seemed perfect for focusing on reading and studying.

In addition to general books, there were various magazines and newspapers available.

It's nice to have access to various materials in the library, especially since opportunities to read print newspapers are scarce nowadays.

There are also foreign language books and children's English books available.

With a variety of materials, it's easy to find books that match your taste and interests.

Now, let's head to the much-anticipated Immersion Room!

In a quiet and cozy atmosphere, it seemed like a great place to spend some time alone with a book.

I particularly liked that this space is available for everyone to use!

It's a perfect spot to take a break from a busy routine and focus on a book.

Now, let's go up to the 3rd floor creative room, where you can experience various creative activities!

This space allows you to not just read books but also to create and express yourself!

I found various works, including a risograph printer.

There are also computer embroidery equipment and various maker tools to explore.

The 3rd floor creative room is designed for engaging in creative activities.

This unique aspect of Gwangtan Library truly stands out.

You can also see 3D printed works and a self-experience zone for hands-on activities.

It's impressive that you can experience not only reading but also various technologies and creative activities!

During my visit, there was an exhibition of the Gwangtan Library's Risograph Club, 'Griso'.

Currently, the exhibition is ongoing on the 5th floor of the Central Library, and in November, it will also be available at the Gyoha Library.

If you plan to visit the Central Library or Gyoha Library, make sure to check out the works of the 'Griso' club!

Another surprising aspect was that there is a studio within the library!

It can be reserved in advance, so those in need might want to take advantage of it.

It's amazing to see such a variety of facilities and services in a library close to us.

From spaces for reading books to areas for enjoying diverse creative activities!

Gwangtan Library is more than just a place to read; it's a place for various experiences.

How about spending a relaxing time with a book at Gwangtan Library this weekend?
