Reflections on December

After skipping December, I returned.
Even though life wasn't that busy, as the weather got colder, I lost the motivation to do anything.
So, I've been staying at home.
I barely managed to do Pilates, and I hope to start running again when the weather warms up, but right now it's too cold, and my bones ache, making me reluctant to run.
I completed 32 sessions of Pilates and extended it for another 30 sessions.
I'm somewhat addicted to Pilates and really enjoy it.
It seems to help straighten my rounded shoulders, relieve my trapezius muscles, and improve my forward head posture.
If I stop going to Pilates, I fear I might actually turn into a turtle with my neck and shoulders.
So, I want to keep going, but the cost of nearly 600,000 won every three months is a bit burdensome, which is a bit disappointing.
One day in November, I traveled to Hongcheon with my dog, Bam-Tol.
We visited a pet-friendly resort, but since Bam-Tol is a bit of a diva in the dog world, it wasn't an easy trip.
He would bark and create a fuss whenever he saw other dogs, so I spent the whole day holding his mouth shut or covering his eyes.
From this trip, I realized that if I want to travel with Bam-Tol, I need to choose a private pet-friendly pension instead of a resort.
Nevertheless, we had a good time.
I even treated us to brunch at a café.
I believe Bam-Tol was happy too.
At the beginning of December, I celebrated my birthday, but it seems I have developed a birthday jinx.
Last December was tough with various issues like martial law on my birthday, being stuck in a crowded subway, and the Jeju Air incident.
This December, my birthday was the worst day ever.
On December 4th, the day after my birthday, I wanted to feel the Christmas spirit, so I made a reservation to visit the Christmas market at Lotte Mall in Jamsil.
I bought a birthday gift for myself and enjoyed delicious sushi, feeling good until I reached the market.
It even snowed for the first time! I was so happy.
But it snowed too much, and I thought I might not make it home in time for Bam-Tol, who was waiting for me.
I left Jamsil at 7 PM and didn't get home until almost 2 AM. I felt so sorry for Bam-Tol, who must have waited for me without understanding.
As soon as I got home, I found myself making excuses to him.
I didn't just play around, I left at 7 PM!
Bam-Tol didn't understand and kept hitting me with his paws.
On December 5th, there was an electrical inspection in my building.
From 11 AM, the electricity would be out for two hours, which meant no internet, TV, or Wi-Fi.
I woke up early to organize the freezer items to avoid a mess.
While taking out the trash, I decided to grab a morning coffee at a café.
At 10:55 AM, I arrived at the elevator just as the power was about to go out.
But the elevator button wouldn't work...
They said the power would go out at 11, so why did it cut off five minutes early?
I had to walk up 19 flights of stairs.
Unexpected cardio!
By the time I reached the 19th floor, I thought to myself that I would never go out on my birthday again and just stay home.
I'll wrap up this entry with some photos from the end of last year, and next time, I'll return with an exciting entry about my 26th year.
