Fluffy Soufflé Pancakes and a Date with My Daughter at Zen Zen Square, Ilsan
Today, I went on a delightful date with my daughter to Zen Zen Square in Ilsan, a restaurant famous for its fluffy and delicious soufflé pancakes. It is located in Lotte Department Store Ilsan, Zen Zen Square launched Korea's first soufflé pancake specialty store in 2017. It's super close to Jeongbalsan Station and easy to find on the first floor of the Lotte Department Store.

1. Excellent Location and Surroundings
When you come out of Exit 2 of Jeongbalsan Station (Line 3), you'll see the Goyang Tourism Information Center and a mural of BTS's RM. Take a moment to check it out! Haha
Beneath the overpass near the BTS RM mural, you can find the lyrics of the song "Ma City": "Ilsan. The place I want to be buried even if I die, my home, La Festa and Western Dom~ Hugok academy district that raised me in my childhood, I like Lake Park more than the Han River, nature and the city, buildings and flowers~" ♬♪
Lake Park and La Festa, which RM sang about, are all nearby. It's perfect to take a walk, look around, shop, and then take a break with delicious soufflé pancakes at Zen Zen Square on the first floor of Lotte Department Store.
Lotte Department Store is visible just across the street from Exit 2 of Jeongbalsan Station (Line 3).
Enter through the main entrance and go down the escalator right in front of you. The lobby is right after you enter the main entrance, and you have to go down one level to get to the first floor. Go straight on the left-hand path, and you'll find Zen Zen Square.
This Ilsan soufflé restaurant has a forest-like ambiance. The interior design is stylish and pretty.
I'm hungry, so let's order first!
2. Small desserts are provided with all drinks, and decaf is also available.
My daughter and I ordered the Raspberry Cream Pancakes (₩18,800), Iced Americano (₩6,200), and Matcha Cream Latte (₩7,700). We chose them because of the raspberries and blueberries. And we waited with great anticipation for the tiramisu that comes as a small dessert. Haha
Wow~ The hygiene rating is excellent. The seasonal fruit was cherries until Tuesday when we visited, but it changed to Shine Muscat from Wednesday. Haha
They are divided into soufflé pancakes, all-day brunch pancakes, and beverages. Since soufflé pancakes take about 20 minutes to prepare, they ask if you want your drinks first or want to have them together. We definitely wanted them together! Haha
3. Pretty interior, great for taking pictures, and the space is comfortable.
Pretty, right? ^^ My daughter was very thoughtful choosing our seats. She hesitated for a while and missed the good spot. LOL
The space is large and spacious, the chairs are comfortable, and there was even a table where you could sit almost on the floor. The lighting is beautiful, and there were partitions between some of the tables, which was thoughtful and nice.
Our seat had pretty lighting and a place to charge our phones, which was great.
4. You can see new magazines every month. Some people come because of these magazines.
There were plenty of magazines to read, making it a good place to relax and take a break.
Finally, the food we ordered came out. You can get your drinks yourself when the vibrator rings, and the soufflé is brought to you cutely by the robot server "Jenny." Jenny serves so well! Haha. It comes quickly, lifts the tray with the soufflé, and turns around quickly and neatly. Haha

Raspberry Cream Pancakes: 3 soufflé pancakes + blueberries + raspberries + banana + raspberry whipped cream + maple syrup
The degree of cooking of soufflé varies from cafe to cafe, and my daughter and I don't like it when it's too undercooked and runny, but Zen Zen Square's soufflé was soft and perfect to eat.
I remember having a hard time eating soufflé covered in white syrup because it was too sweet, but this is different! It's just the right amount of sweetness and delicious. Even with all the maple syrup, raspberry whipped cream, and fruit, it was harmonious and just the right amount of sweetness.
The texture of the raspberry seeds popping in your mouth is also great.
The Iced Americano and Matcha Cream Latte also came out.
The Iced Americano is said to be mild. If you want a strong coffee flavor, order a Long Black. The Matcha Cream Latte also had a slightly bitter taste of green tea and coffee that wasn't too sweet, which was nice.
My daughter, who tried the tiramisu that came as a small dessert, said, "The tiramisu is delicious. I would order it separately." I agreed. We were too full to eat it, but I'm sure we'll order the tiramisu next time.
Pet strollers can also be rented at the customer service center on the 2nd basement floor of the Lotte Department Store annex. The nearby Goyang Tourism Information Center also lends out outing supplies, so it would be nice to enjoy the soufflé with your dog in a pet stroller or pack it up and go to Lake Park. My daughter and I talked about this and made plans.
We enjoyed our time while reading the magazines we each wanted to see.
The age range of the customers was diverse, from people in their 20s to grandfathers and grandmothers wearing fedoras.

The way to the bathroom is as follows. Come out of the store and turn right at the end of the corridor, and you will see the DAKS store. The bathroom is right next to DAKS.
