Escaping the Downpour: A Gelato Gem in Bukchon, Alloro

On a day when the rain was pouring down...
We met to keep our promise.
After grabbing a bite in Anam,
we dashed through the rain to a new gelato cafe in Bukchon,
finding our way to Alloro down a charming alley.
The alley leading to Alloro is lovely too.
Passing by Bukchon Granhand,
Alloro is located at the end of the alley where Giwa Taproom is.
Alloro's ice cream model.
If you see the ice cream model,
that's Alloro.
A symbol of coziness,
Steamed-up glass door...
Alloro Interior.
It's very clean
and the interior matches the Hanok (traditional Korean house) atmosphere.
Alloro Counter.
Gelato is always delicious, but...
Something about truly exceptional Gelato!!!!!!!!!!
That kind of feeling is hard to achieve.
You know?
Bukchon Alloro Menu.
Uniquely, they also sell alcohol!
One cup is ₩7,000.
From other reviews, I saw that
if you get it in a cone,
they add various toppings.
We went with cups.
Bukchon Alloro Gelato.
A familiar gelato refrigerator.
They explained that the flavors change according to the season.
Alloro Taste Test.
They let you try samples since there are some unique flavors,
which only made the decision harder...
Alloro Frame.
Next to the counter,
there's a painting of a drunken scholar.
Alloro Alcohol.
They seem to have whisky and wine,
but we only had gelato.
Yum yum.
Bukchon Cafe Alloro Interior.
The interior isn't cramped,
and the seats are spaced far apart,
making it very comfortable.
Alloro Gelato Cup.
We chose Rice and Peach Pistachio!
The texture is incredibly chewy.
Expectations x 100
Alloro Gelato.
The peach really tastes like peach!
That kind of flavor.
Unlike other places, they said they infuse the Rice flavor with roasted barley,
which is why it tastes like a cafe latte.
The pistachio is really rich
and nutty pistachio.
There's nothing to skip,
looking at the pictures makes me want to try the other flavors too...
Bukchon Cafe Alloro Gelato.
Cleared it all.
Out of all the places we went to that day,
this was the most satisfying.
I wonder if it will get crowded if it becomes famous...
I should go again before that happens.
Overall Impression.
One of the few cafes in Bukchon that's open late.
If you like gelato, you won't be disappointed with the flavor.
You can tell they use generous amounts of ingredients.
Definitely revisiting.
