September 2025

I think I might have secretly introduced you to one of my favorite cafes near Anguk last time.

Actually, I've loved this cafe for a long time, even before that. It's Cafe Gaeppul in Hyehwa.

I wanted to keep it all to myself forever, but it seems like a lot more people know about it now.

So, I'm revealing it to the general public.

Cafe Gaeppul

10:00 AM - 11:00 PM - Great for catching the night view!

There are many ways to get up here.

Today, I took a local bus all the way to the top of Naksan Park.

Then, it's about a 2-3 minute walk.

And there it is, Cafe Gaeppul, the star of today's post!

I don't think this area used to be here.

It seems like they've remodeled the entire building.

And they created a lot of new spaces.

Honestly, I was a little disappointed here...

It used to have that antique vibe, that cozy feeling within a somewhat dilapidated space.

But it seems like that kind of atmosphere is gone now.

I think the owner might have changed too.

bright future

There's a door if you go straight down here.

(I didn't know there was a door and went back to the main entrance.)

If you go towards the Ihwa Mural Village like this,

you'll find the main entrance.

Usually, a lot of people come in this way.

The left side is the Cafe Gaeppul menu.

And on the right side, it seems like there's a newly opened bakery cafe.

It looks like a new rooftop cafe called Baeogae has opened.

happy time

They have sandwiches and various types of bread that you can eat as a meal.

You can eat comfortably.

Maybe I should go there next time... Hmm.

And the biggest reason why I love Gaeppul, a rooftop cafe in Hyehwa,

and the reason why you should come in this season is:

right here, the unobstructed city view...

Located at the top of Naksan Park,

you can see the entire city of Seoul at a glance.

I think Gaeppul is the biggest tourist attraction in Naksan Park.

Just looking at it like this makes me feel at ease.

And the night view is also superb.

special moment

Originally, there wasn't a neat indoor space like this.

It seems like the owner changed

and they redecorated,

so this new indoor space was created.

I think there used to be a small attic on the second floor...

I suddenly missed the owner who always greeted me warmly whenever I came.

amazing sight

I used to come here alone like that,

sitting here with a sentimental vibe...

I didn't intentionally take this picture,

but I was so happy to go after a long time

that I took pictures here and there,

and I ended up capturing this wonderful sight.

Looking at it again, the view is so pretty...

happy moment

It may have my subjective emotions in it,

but I'm confident that anyone who comes here will be more than satisfied.

Okay, snap out of it.

I need to review the cafe.

I almost forgot my purpose because I was reminiscing.

Looking at it, they have cocktails, beer, and wine glasses that weren't there before.

They've added a simple alcohol menu.

I thought it would be great to come here in the evening for a light beer and snacks.

To those of you who are reading this post,

I recommend that you trust me and give it a try.

peaceful landscape

It's the perfect weather to go these days :)

I'm going to eat soon,

so I simply ordered two iced Americanos and started spacing out.

Because I was with someone,

I couldn't listen to music.

But just drinking coffee while looking at this wonderful view

is a great happiness, I think.

valuable experience

I hope everyone who visits here

can enjoy the same relaxation as I did

and feel happiness.

I hope this precious space lasts for a long, long time.

Although it's lost some of its old charm,

it's still undeniably a romantic space.

That's how I spent a relaxing and healing time at Gaeppul after a long time.

amazing sight

On the way down, I took a leisurely walk while looking around Ihwa Mural Village.

The path down is also

perfectly timed to catch the sunset.

Ihwa Mural Village is so beautiful.

A relaxed cat

sleeping soundly even when people pass by.

I want to live like that cat,

living a carefree and contented life.

If you don't have any special plans this weekend,

I highly recommend visiting Cafe Gaeppul, a rooftop cafe in Naksan Park,

and enjoying some relaxation :)
