A Winter Stroll and a Cozy Café Visit
166 Neungdong-ro, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul

On a quiet winter day, we took a peaceful walk around Children’s Grand Park and ended the day at a cozy dessert café nearby.
This post shares a calm winter stroll and a detailed review of Hwanwon-dang, a pet-friendly café loved by locals.
A Quiet Winter Walk at Children’s Grand Park
On a day when staying indoors felt wasteful but traveling far felt exhausting, we bundled up and headed to Children’s Grand Park for a winter walk.
Compared to other seasons, the park was calm and peaceful, with far fewer people and a serene atmosphere.
As the cold wind brushed against my face, I naturally started craving a warm place to rest.
Discovering Hwanwon-dang Café Near the Park
Remembering a dessert café I had saved before, we decided to visit Hwanwon-dang, located just a short walk from the park.
The café is only two minutes from Exit 3 of Children’s Grand Park Station, making it very easy to reach.
Tucked away along a wall-lined alley, the café felt like it would transform into a fairy-tale spot during summer, surrounded by greenery.
Café Atmosphere and Practical Information
Hwanwon-dang is a pet-friendly café, which makes it especially appealing for visitors with pets.
Although there is no dedicated parking, public parking is available nearby at Hwayang-dong Public Parking.
Despite arriving before noon, there were already many delivery orders, showing how popular this café is among locals.
The interior was more spacious than expected, with comfortable seating and good natural light by the windows, perfect for photos or relaxed conversations.
Dessert and Drink Review
Because of delivery limitations that day, I chose the Strawberry Victoria Cake and an Egg Tart.
The Strawberry Victoria Cake truly highlighted the freshness of winter strawberries. Unlike many cakes where strawberries feel decorative, here they played a central role in both taste and texture.
The Egg Tart had a crisp shell with a soft, savory filling, pairing especially well with coffee.
I ordered an Iced Americano and an Iced Vanilla Latte, even though it was winter.
The Americano had a clean balance of acidity and bitterness, while the vanilla latte was gently sweet, complementing the desserts without overpowering them.
Final Thoughts on This Winter Outing
Ending our winter walk with a visit to Hwanwon-dang felt like the perfect conclusion to the day.
The calm park atmosphere paired with a cozy café made this outing both refreshing and relaxing.
If you know other great cafés or dessert spots near Children’s Grand Park, I’d love to explore them on my next visit.
