A Weekend of Creativity and Connection
경북 구미시 봉곡동 278-7

This weekend’s studio class was full of warm energy, even though the schedule was hectic with a wedding trip to Busan and a quick return to Gumi.
In the wagashi class, children naturally step away from their phones, focus with their hands, and grow confidence through calm concentration and the joy of gifting their finished creations to family.
A Busy Weekend, But the Studio Was Wide Open
This weekend, our class at the studio was wide open! ❤️
I had a friend's wedding in Busan and was set to receive a bouquet.
After attending the wedding, I rushed back to Gumi to start the kids' class right away. Hehe!
Zooming here and there, right? ✨️
Even with a packed schedule, the moment class begins, the studio atmosphere shifts into something calm and warm.
The kids arrive with curious eyes, and once the materials come out, the day’s busyness fades into quiet focus.
Hands On Time Means Less Screen Time
During our time molding with our hands, the children naturally distance themselves from their phones.
As they create delicate shapes with the tools based on their envisioned designs, their eyes, hands, and thoughts converge in one place.
Even in a short time, you can visibly see their focus and concentration increase.
It’s one of those moments where the room isn’t loud, but you can feel that everyone is truly concentrating.
Every Child Creates Differently
It’s also a time for getting to know each other.
Even when using the same materials, siblings create completely different works.
Even twins have different methods and color preferences, which sometimes surprises me. Hehe!
And that difference is actually a strength in wagashi class.
It’s not about who made it better, but a natural moment of discovery where you can clearly see what each child likes.
Calm Minds and Growing Confidence
The soft dough, favorite colors, and the process of creating by hand helps stabilize a child's emotions and builds a clear sense of achievement.
You can often see it in their faces the moment they finish.
That proud expression when they show their work to their moms is always unforgettable.
In those moments, their self-esteem and confidence grow quietly but strongly.
Please Praise Them After Class
After making wagashi, please give lots of praise to the kids. ❤️
For children, the number one person they want to gift their creations to is their mom or dad.
That’s why even a small compliment becomes something that stays in their memory for a long time.
How Many Wagashi You Take Home
In our class, each participant makes eight pieces of wagashi.
If you reserve through Naver, you get two extra pieces as a bonus.
So you’ll take home two sets of four pieces plus two individual ones, which makes gifting easy in different ways.
A New Year Gift Idea for 2026
When visiting grandparents in the new year of 2026, giving them wagashi made by their grandchild would be an incredibly special gift.
It’s not just a dessert. It becomes a memory, shaped by small hands, and delivered with pride.
