A Visit to Sungsimdang DICC: A Special Bakery Experience in Daejeon

Hello! Today, I visited Sungsimdang DICC, a special branch of the iconic Sungsimdang bakery that you can't miss when you're in Daejeon.
Perhaps because of its proximity to the Expo, there's even a Kkumdori (Expo mascot) statue nearby!
You'll be greeted by a wide variety of breads. Since I went in the morning, the selection was especially diverse and plentiful.

Sungsimdang DICC offers a different charm compared to the main branch.
Located near the Daejeon International Convention Center (DICC), it's a great place to stop by when visiting the convention center or Hanbat Arboretum.
While waiting in line to pay, I spotted an adorable Hall of Fame display. I wanted to buy more, but I restrained myself!

Sungsimdang Twigim-soboro Station is a dedicated store where you can only purchase the popular Twigim-soboro (fried soboro) bread. It's located across from the main store. Just a heads up!
When you visit Sungsimdang, there are certain breads you absolutely have to try!
Twigim-soboro: Crispy fried bread filled with sweet red bean paste. It's Sungsimdang's signature menu item.

Bomunsan Meari: Moist castella bread with a harmonious blend of sweet fresh cream.
Mugwort Cream Bread / Baguettes: There's a lot of fun in choosing according to the season and your mood.
You can enjoy the same signature breads at the DICC branch as you would at the main branch.

Sungsimdang Cake Boutique offers a variety of delicious cakes.

Sungsimdang DICC isn't just a bakery; it's also a cafe where you can enjoy freshly baked bread with coffee and other beverages.
Especially since it's connected to the Daejeon Convention Center, it's the perfect place to visit before or after an exhibition or event.

The cafe has knives and tissues available, and the staff is very friendly!
They also have a variety of gifts, wines that pair well with bread, and even Sungsimdang merchandise, making it fun to browse.

It's a great place to stop by when you have an important appointment in Daejeon or after a visit to Hanbat Arboretum.
The packaging is also very nice, making it suitable for gifts.
There's a reason why they call it the "mecca of bread pilgrimage!"

I highly recommend Sungsimdang DICC to anyone visiting Daejeon.
You can enjoy Sungsimdang's bread in a more relaxed atmosphere compared to the crowded main branch, and it's close to nearby tourist attractions, making it a great addition to your itinerary.
If you're planning a visit to Daejeon, be sure to stop by Sungsimdang DICC!
