A Relaxing Brunch at Opato in Haebangchon

This Chuseok holiday is the most relaxing ever! ✨
My heart is truly happy!
Well, actually, I was feeling a bit down, so I took my mom out for brunch on Sunday to try and feel better.
Here's how to get to Opato:
Take the Yongsan 02 bus through the winding and steep streets of Haebangchon. Get off at Our Home Clinic station, and Opato is right in front of you!
Haebangchon can be quite complicated, so it seems Opato doesn't have its own parking space. You'll need to use a public parking lot.
When you arrive at Opato, you'll see two shops facing each other across the street.
To the left is Opato Bakery, where you can get bread and coffee.
To the right is Ori, a restaurant that serves Western cuisine for dinner but offers brunch during the day. If you're having brunch, go to the restaurant on the right.
Opato requires each person to order one brunch menu item. They also ask for one drink order per table, but they didn't say anything when we didn't order any.
Here's what we ordered:
✅ Today's Soup (Spinach Potato Soup, ₩9,500)
✅ Hummus Salad (₩17,000)
✅ Club Baguette Sandwich (₩17,000)
For reference, here's Opato's menu and prices.
Oh, I almost forgot! I heard there can be a wait for Opato brunch, so we arrived a bit late, around 1:30 PM. But because it was the Chuseok holiday and it was raining, there was no wait and we were seated right away.
We got the last available seats, so it seems there's usually a weekend wait.
We were seated by a pretty window, but there's no particular view. Just a street view, haha.
The atmosphere at Opato is dim and jazzy, giving you the feeling of being in a Parisian brunch cafe.
The atmosphere is great! But the space is very small. I think there were only about 5-6 tables!
Today's soup at Opato was Spinach Potato Soup. It was completely green!
And this is the Opato Hummus Salad!
Hummus is spread around the edge of the plate, and there are balsamic-marinated vegetables, chickpeas, broccoli, and tomatoes with sauce.
The slightly red seasoning had a hint of spice.

I wonder if we ordered the wrong combination of dishes, because there was so much sourdough! We had to put Hummus on bread and soup as well
Then came the baguette sandwich! I thought this sandwich was the most delicious, but unfortunately, the baguette was too hard.
I was very worried that my mom might lose a tooth… 😅
The Opato Club Baguette Sandwich is filled with arugula, gourmet butter, tomatoes, ham, and Gouda cheese, and has a slightly sweet sauce that goes well with the baguette.
While the food was being prepared, I also looked at the bread in the bakery across the street. You can buy bread there and eat it with your brunch.

I heard that Opato's salt bread is famous, so I bought a truffle salt bread and asked them to bring it to us. They warmed it up and brought it over.
The salt bread was also delicious, but not to the point of high praise, and not to the point that I would come here just for the salt bread!

[Honest Review]
✔️ OK to visit once if you want to experience the atmosphere of a small European restaurant.
✔️ Probably won't revisit...! (Due to accessibility... there are still many brunch restaurants to explore ✨)
✔️ But I am willing to revisit Ori for dinner, for a different experience.
